The most recent Warbond, Chemical Agents, introduced a curious new weapon to the community. The P-11 Stim Pistol allows a player to help out their fellow divers, but not many players were ready for this major addition. It had to come to the Helldivers 2 community issuing a PSA so the players would stop killing divers trying to heal them with Stim Pistols.
An Important PSA About Stim Pistols
Unfortunately, team killing isn’t all that rare in Helldivers 2, so many players are quite aware of their teammates’ movements, and some players don’t even know the Stim Pistols were added. So, before you point your Stim Pistol at someone, maybe try communicating your intentions prior to doing so.
Several players shared their unfortunate experiences. Cosmic-Buccaneer recalled: “I recently unlocked the Stim pistol and every time I tried to shoot someone with the pistol, I came closer just show them it’s okay because it is a healing gun. They shot me back and punched me in the face”.
Other players shared similar experiences, whether it happened to them, or they had seen it happen to another player. PawnBoy noted: “Me and a buddy were playing in a random host’s game. The host was using the Stim Pistol to heal people. A 4th player joined and after getting Stim Pistoled he TK’d the host. The host tried again, the same result, then the host quit”.
Helldivers Share What Confuses Them About These Pistols
There might be another reason why this PSA about the sheer existence of Stim Pistols in Helldivers 2 is very important. Reportedly, some players don’t get that lovely post-Stim glow after being shot with a Stim Pistol, instead, they see blood. You can understand how confusing that must be for the player on the receiving end.
Of course, sometimes – it is blood. Many players, overexcited to help, forget to change their primary weapon and end up actually shooting their fellow divers. One player, rayman1087, recalled: “I ran with a guy who kept saying on the mic “Stop healing yourselves, I have a Stim gun”. He was all sorts of excited to heal us. Then he says, “Look, it’s so much easier for me to heal you”. He then proceeds to kill one of our divers because he had his primary equipped instead of the Stim gun”.
To summon it up, communicate your intentions clearly and double-check if you equipped your Stim Pistol. Other than that, if you play with someone, believe that hurting you isn’t their goal, as we are all in this together for Super Earth (except for the Chaosdivers). So, choose your favorite build and join your fellow Helldivers in completing the current Major Order, for Liberty and Managed Democracy.
