Finally, a worthy opponent! It’s been a week full of ups and downs for Helldivers. Many were disappointed that the long-demanded update hadn’t dropped, but this led to players finally getting some info on the next Warbond and maybe even on the next update. In-game, everything was going according to plan until a mistake probably cost the players the MO. At the time of writing this article, the Helldivers 2 players are fighting on Imber, the planet dubbed New Hellmire, and many have already given up on the Major Order.
Helldivers Will Most Likely Lose the Major Order
It started off like a dream. The current Major Order is demanding, but the players smoothly liberated planet after planet. With plenty of time left, they only needed to liberate Claorell. However, the community didn’t pay attention to the Galactic Map. The bots took the only two planets through which the players had access to Claorell. The progress on Claorell was quickly lost, and the players now have to liberate Imber to get to it.
Unfortunately, things aren’t looking great. The DSS is on Imber, which is great, but… this planet is similar to Hellmire, which instantly repels many players. Yes, the Environmental Conditions include intense heat and fire tornadoes. Also, the Incineration Corps is active, which raises the temperature even more.
At the time of writing this article, Imber is at around 70% liberated. According to a third-party app, Helldivers 2 Companion, Helldivers will liberate the planet in a bit less than 16 hours. That would leave the community approximately 12 hours to liberate Claorell from scratch – an impossible mission.
So, many Helldivers 2 players have already given up on the Major Order, as the New Hellmire isn’t worth the hustle. Around 50% of the currently active players are fighting somewhere else in the galaxy.
The Helldivers 2 Community Is Split Over New Hellmire
Hellmire has always been the most controversial planet. Some players adored it, some hated it more than anything else. So, once it was swallowed by the Gloom, fans of Hellmire embarked on a mission to find a similar planet. Finally, they seem to be enjoying themselves.
One player, Inner-Arugula-4445, reported: “I saw some mad lad take a flamethrower there yesterday. He was getting annihilated, but I gotta admit it was pretty badass seeing a diver run through a fire tornado and use a flamethrower on a patrol of bots”. We’re sure the “mad lad” in question thrived on Hellmire!
On the other hand, many Helldivers are staying as far as possible from Imber. DerpyPerson636 recalled: “I tried my first (and last) level 10 helldives for incin corp bots. Even with flame-resistant heavy armor, I was getting laid out constantly. 0/10 experience”. Others mainly just noped out of the entire experience.
We don’t mind a little heat; we’ve been known to say we miss Hellmire. We took a little break from diving on Imber to help out the Troost effort, but ever since it was liberated, we’re back on New Hellmire. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
