It’s been quite a week for Helldivers. We haven’t seen so many players on the Automaton front in a long time. But, no matter how many players there are, the bots aren’t backing out. Even worse, the Automatons are so persistent in their attempt to reach the Creek that they even brought the Jet Brigade to face the Helldivers 2 players.
The Jet Brigade Is Back and Headed to the Creek?
As you probably know, the Jet Brigade has been destroyed and resurrected several times already. It first appeared back in October. Over time, Helldivers had their ups and downs fighting the Jet Brigade, but at some point, they decimated these bots.
However, the Jet Brigade returned at the end of January, and the players managed to destroy the Jet Brigade factories in early February. This was thought to be the end of it, but there were some signs that these bots could return in early March. They didn’t do so then, but they are here now. The new Jet Brigade factories are located on Aurora Bay.
On April 1, Helldivers received an in-game Alert. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an April Fool’s joke. It stated that the Jet Brigade had resurfaced, and it joined the Automaton offensive. The Alert noted: “The Automatons are clearly dedicating massive resources to besmirching the memory of the heroes who defended the planet. The Helldivers must continue to hold”.
Thankfully, it seems that the Helldivers 2 community is ready to defend the Creek and face the Jet Brigade. Since the Alert was put out, Helldivers worldwide have been spreading the word and calling their fellow divers to join them. One player, piuxie, shared a briefing on YouTube and asked the players to join the fight.
So far, we have to admit, we’re a bit surprised by how well the players are holding up. At the time of writing this article, none of the planets connected to Malevelon Creek are compromised. The players are valiantly fighting on Popli IX.
Helldivers Ponder the Future
So, until April 1, the players thought the Jet Brigade was a thing of the past. The devs even introduced the Incineration Corps as a substitute. However, now that both of these squads are in the game, Helldivers have a devious idea for a new enemy.
Several players took to Discord and shared a similar idea. Envixity noted: “We need a crossover with the Jet Brigade and Incineration Corps. Turn a firebomber into a flying napalm”. Yup! There are plenty of players who would love to see, um, Incineration Jet Brigade Corps.
What do you think? Would it be too much to have the Jet Brigade shoot flames? Perhaps, but things like that make the game fun. For the time being, we’ll be diving on Popli IX for the current Major Order. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
