The majority of Helldivers have been working on completing the Democracy Space Station for months. Sure, it takes a while to finish a project this size, but some players are getting antsy, especially since every failed Major Order seems to delay the completion date. On November 6, Joel issued a Situational Refresher about the DSS, and Helldivers 2 players have had enough.
A Situational Refresher Addresses the DSS
As you know, the current Major Order has the players helping with the evacuation of planets bordering the Gloom. The idea is that the citizens will be evacuated to the Democracy Space Station where they’ll become personnel. As of the time of writing this article, the players are still holding all three of the designated planets and they’ve managed to fend off 3 Terminid attacks on other planets. Overall, Helldivers are doing very well in this MO.
However, many players became concerned when they started up the game only to be met with a Situational Refresher. It stated: “This helpful refresher is provided as an aid for Helldivers who have recently come out of cryo-sleep: The Democracy Space Station is in its third construction phase. Before it can enter its activation phase, it must be fully staffed”.
The Situational Refresher continued: “The Helldivers are ordered to hold the designated planets while their citizens relocate to the DSS. Failure to hold these planets means staff must be recruited using standard processes, delaying the DSS”.
Helldivers 2 Players Share Their Gloomy Expectations
Many Helldivers 2 players were quite peeved with this Situational Refresher, as it sort of teased another delay of the DSS. Everyone thought this Major Order would be a breeze, however, there was something ominous about this latest announcement. Of course, Helldivers weren’t shy to speak their minds.
Some players pointed out that with how long the construction was taking, the devs needed to remind the players what they were doing. Aurum091_ noted: “S**t is taking so long to build they have to remind us what is happening”.
Other players joked that there would always be another mission. Xlurpo stated: “And after this MO we have to bring in the Pets of the brave citizens who work there. And after that, we have to defend the toothbrush factory”. lxSlimxShadyxl added: “After that, we’ll have to restock the food and water on the station”.
However, the majority of the players just reported feeling burnt out. All jokes aside, many players said that their passion for the game was slowly dying. Sylassian noted: “At this point, I feel like AH simply hasn’t finished coding and patching the DSS interface and features. So, they’re delaying, delaying”.
Truth be told, we expected the DSS to be open on Liberty Day, which is what most of the players expected. Hopefully, the devs will either let the Helldivers enjoy the DSS soon or come up with another storyline to keep the players happy while they wait. In the meantime, we’ll be evacuating those poor citizens. Will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
