Excessive ragdolling has been an issue pretty much since the game launched. Following the fix after the Escalation of Freedom, the issues seemingly stopped. Or did they? If you have had any strong opinions on ragdolling in Helldivers 2, you now have an opportunity to voice them in the most recent developers’ poll.
Helldivers Can Express Their Opinion on Ragdolling in a Discord Poll
On October 2, everyone’s favorite Community Manager, Twinbeard, took to Discord with the Arrowhead’s latest poll on ragdolling. The CM announced: “There’s a poll on ragdolling. Please give us your feedback! Also, don’t forget: A dive a day keeps the bugs away! Thanks, everyone”.
You can find the poll here, and at the time of writing this article, you have around two days left to express your feelings on ragdolling in Helldivers 2. So far, more than 85k players voted, almost 40% of which agreed that ragdolling was a bit too much at times. We’d say that even though there is lots of time until this poll wraps up, the majority of players have spoken.
As always, some players were quite unsatisfied with the fact that the devs chose to post the poll on Discord. After all, every player should have the opportunity to share their feedback. However, we have to point out that 85k votes in less than 24 hours indicates that Discord might be an acceptable option, for this poll at least.
The 40% of Helldivers 2 Players Speaks Out
Most of the Helldivers 2 players are sick and tired of all the ragdolling and they are hoping the Arrowhead devs will take the poll results seriously. Sure enough, the players gladly shared their terrible experiences with the community.
One player, SleepyBoy-, noted: “I was standing about 1m to the side of my autocannon turret. Right as it shot, I was enlisted in the latest space program. I flew about the map’s length. Thankfully, I broke my neck just a few seconds before I would’ve been labeled a traitor”. They also added their final look toward their fellow divers in the distance.
HomicideJack stated: “The explosions from destroyed tanks as their magazines detonate is the most egregious. It’s a death sentence to be anywhere near them”. WhiteRaven_M added: “Yes rocket and turret and spewer mortar and impaler ragdolls are annoying, but those are at least kind of understandable. But for f**k’s sake, if your diver dives wrong and trips on a rock you get sent into a ragdolling state for the next two seconds, even more, if you’re unlucky and ragdoll DOWN a slope”.
If you’ve had experiences like these, make sure to cast your vote. The poll closes on October 5, and, hopefully, that’s when the devs will decide how to improve this mechanism. Until then, stay safe, and watch out for the Illuminate. For Liberty and Super Earth.
