Since the Illuminate arrived and the hype started settling, things started getting quiet. Maybe even too quiet. Players know that the Arrowhead employees are on their holiday break, but the expectations for something new and big are growing more and more. In the absence of anything new, Helldivers 2 players have started noticing strange details, ones that are fairly reminiscent of Ewoks. So, what’s going on?
Are Those… Ewoks?!
As you know, the current Major Order has been quite strenuous, especially for new players. At the time of writing this article, the players are fighting in the jungles of Gaellivare. Many Helldivers reported some strange occurrences, like hearing animal-like noises or seeing red eyes staring directly into their souls.
One Helldiver, Talon_445, probably felt like something was watching, as they managed to capture something staring at them. If you look closely, you’ll see two red dots looking out of the hollow tree. The OP noted: “The jungle is watching”.
Of course, there are many Star Wars fans among the players. So, what’s small enough to fit into a tree? Ewoks, of course! Many Helldivers 2 players suggested that some creatures similar to Ewoks were lurking from the trees.
One player, countpuchi, added: “I wonder if these guys were the noises I keep hearing from them jungles and swamps. Sounds like a predatory kind of sound lol… not sure if anyone else noticed that”.
Helldivers 2 Players Would Love Some Interactive Wildlife
Obviously, Helldivers were quite excited about these sightings. For a while now, there have been rumors of wildlife being introduced. However, it’s important to note that the devs have been quiet about this topic.
Still, this didn’t stop the excited Helldivers from sharing their wishes, even though some were quite undemocratic. One player noted: “Yknow I remember seeing a news report that mentioned a sentient species found on a swampy planet. Think they might be teasing a new faction? (The news report said they were exterminated but with how incompetent Super Earth is, I think there is a chance they might’ve survived)”.
Gingerbsnapping stated: “Canonically Super Earth “cleanses” the planets of any dangerous fauna before/during colonization so there’s a low chance of that happening for in-game and development reasons. But I too wish we could see little creatures more”.
Truth be told, we might be a bit undemocratic, cause we truly wish to see some wildlife in Helldivers 2. We know, we know, and you should report us to your Democracy Officer, but aren’t you curious at all? Well, we might see some wildlife in the future, you never know. Until then, we’ll gladly do our duty. For Liberty and Super Earth.
