It’s here! The long-awaited patch, the cherry on top of the developers’ 60-day deadline to fix Helldivers 2 dropped on October 15. At first glance, we’d say the devs decided to finish this period with a boom. The latest patch features a bunch of new buffs and loads of fixes that will drastically improve the gameplay.
Helldivers 2 Game Director Gives Insight on the 60-Day Period and Thanks the Players
Aside from the extremely lengthy and juicy patch notes, the devs took the opportunity to reflect on everything that has happened in the last couple of months. Game Director, Mikael Eriksson, wrote an overview in which he explains how impactful the community’s feedback on the Escalation of Freedom was. He stated: “We listened, we learned, and we took action”.
And, they truly did. In the overview, the Game Director disclosed that over 70 weapons and Stratagems were re-balanced, and armor, both enemy and Helldiver’s, were reworked. The developers also worked on redesigning the enemies, so they’d be challenging, but still fun to face.
Also, they made big changes to enemy spawning as well as targeting and vision for the Automatons. If you are a devoted Helldiver, you probably noticed some performance changes, as the devs wanted to give the players a more responsive and optimized experience.
The Game Director revealed that Arrowhead will continue committing to players, which the community found very heart-warming. The devs will keep the lines of communication open and continue to ask for feedback.
Helldivers 2 Game Director also thanked the players for their patience, insights, and passion. He confirmed the feedback after the previous patch was enjoyable and exciting for the devs. He concluded: “Together, we are shaping the future of Helldivers 2, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next for the core game experience and the next chapters of the Galactic War”.
Helldivers React to the Latest Patch
Obviously, a great patch deserves great praise. Helldivers 2 players delivered as they sang praises of the final patch of the 60-day deadline. Aside from “This is true freedom” and “Democracy intensifies” comments, players also showed some love for the devs.

Another player, Anonymous-Internaut, shared: “This is what peak gaming looks like. Bruh I cannot believe they did not nerf anything and instead continued with the buffs. Arrowhead did truly listen”.
CommanderT2020 added: “Another great update! This shows how much Arrowhead cares and adapts. ‘m glad to see Helldivers returning and the amount of support, and I hope people will stop hating on Arrowhead as much as I’ve seen now”.
