Some Helldivers truly are Free of Thought! We’ve all heard of Helldivers who somehow lack a head, right? What neither the Helldivers 2 community, nor the developers knew was that at least some headless Helldivers get to equip another armor instead of a helmet. And, yes, according to reports, the passives stack.
A Headless Diver Can Get Another Armor
Headless Helldivers have been sort of a permanent fixture in the game for a while. Reports of someone losing their head (not on the battlefield, though) will occasionally appear, but this always seemed like a harmless bug. Truth be told, we never gave it a second thought, we just found it funny.
Well, one player recently reported something quite strange. They noted: “I have recently stumbled upon a bug that makes it so my head is gone, and instead of a helmet I can equip a second suit. And yes, that does mean I can have two effects (my last couple missions I’ve had extra stims and nades for example). Now as much as I’m enjoying my time being able to use fire resistant armor and extra stims with the double edge sickle, I just wanna make sure I’m not gonna get banned for this”.
This player also provided photo evidence (below). You can see that their diver obviously doesn’t have a head. Also, instead of a helmet, they in fact have another armor equipped. This player swore they didn’t use any cheats or anything similar.
Helldivers 2 Devs Are Working on the Issue
So, how does one become a headless diver in Helldivers 2? Well, at least for the time being, the devs are just as confused by this bug as everyone else. One of them, B Vitamin, responded to the concerned player. This dev stated: “I’ve actually seen this before and so far no idea how to reproduce this”.
Of course, some helpful community members calmed down the OP, and offered possible reasons for being headless. Goo suggested: “It is possible that someone from your lobby tinkered with redacted and made a mistake while trying to use cheats”.
Does it pay off to lose your head? It looks like it! Still, we hope the devs will figure out how to fix this problem soon. It’s only fair that we all enjoy the same privileges in our fight for Managed Democracy. Speaking of, the current Major Order is nearing its end, and even though Helldivers didn’t save Moradesh, they managed to keep Claorell. Get ready for the next MO, we have a feeling it’ll be a doozy.
