Something, erm, not strange is happening! On December 3, the Helldivers 2 players received a completely regular Informational Message about the black hole. This message made some players suspect that something was going on, while the most devoted Helldivers fully trusted the Super Earth officials.
An Informational Message Mentions the Black Hole
You might have woken up on December 3, thinking that it’s just another regular Tuesday (who knows, it might be). You started up the game and saw a tiny message in the bottom right corner of the screen. Out of nowhere, you probably felt those tingles going down your back.
The message noted: “Super Earth High Command would like to inform all Helldivers that investigations into reported anomalies surrounding the singularity created by the destruction of the Supercolony have concluded. It has been determined definitively that the singularity is an ordinary black hole. Further observations of perceived anomalies should be disregarded, as the science is conclusive”.
Now, why would the Super Earth announce something like this in the middle of a Major Order on the bot front? Especially since no one even mentioned the black hole since Liberty Day. Is it just a coincidence, or will something big happen after all? And is asking these questions actually treason?
Helldivers Are Quite Divided Over the Message
As you may have expected, this Informational Message about the black hole made quite a commotion in the Helldivers 2 community. Many players pointed out that it was “an ordinary black hole”, so there was no reason to ask any questions.
GodEmperorBlorg noted: “Can’t you read?! It is an ordinary black hole with nothing special about it. The Ministry of Science has never been wrong before”. Another player, DaReelZElda, added: “Weren’t you listening? It’s an ORDINARY black hole. Or do you not trust High Command? Do me a favor, turn around and face the wall”.
However, many players were quite excited by the possibility of something happening. As you know, it’s been a while since something big happened. Since there are some leaks about a Special Event, and also about the Illuminate, many players put 2+2 together.
One player stated: “Knowing the Illuminates and their cloaking capabilities they might be coming out of the black hole undetected, slowly making camp in planets that we control to prepare for a massive invasion”.
Players have been patiently waiting for the Illuminate, so we hope they’ll finally arrive. Until they do, or something else happens, let’s try to complete the Major Order. There is even a movement for the liberation of Cyberstan. For Liberty and Super Earth.
