After spectacularly failing the previous Major Order, it’s time for Helldivers to move on to the next one. Unfortunately, they’ll have to do so without Gas Mines which proved to be quite useful. The latest Major Order sends the brave Helldivers 2 players to fend off Terminid attacks. The question Helldivers would love to get an answer to is what are they protecting? Some new content, maybe?
Major Order Has Players Fending off Terminid Attacks
On December 11, the High Command, or Joel, issued a new Major Order, and, as usual, a briefing came along with it. This week, the Helldivers will be protecting a new multi-complex Factory Hub that is being built on Archenar Secundus.
The briefing explains how important this project is, stating that it will be “creating millions of exciting labor opportunities”. The Factory Hub is just the first of presumably many projects that AM Defense will complete for Super Earth. As expected, those pesky bugs will try to ruin this for Helldivers.
The briefing noted: “However, temperature readings show an increase of Terminid activity in the Jin Xi and Sten Sectors, seemingly in response to this momentous project. This supports the theory of many Terminid experts: the alien race may instinctively sense and attack areas with heavy Democratic activity”.
Therefore, Helldivers were given a simple task: “Defend the construction of a defense contractor’s new Factory Hub from Terminid invasion”. The Helldivers 2 players have five days to fend off 4 Terminid attacks to complete the Major Order. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, given the recent losses, we aren’t so sure.
Helldivers 2 Players Discuss Best Defense Strategies Against Terminids
Well, not even an hour passed since the MO dropped and the players have already stumbled upon a disagreement. As you probably know, gambits can be quite useful for defense missions. Some players suggested using as many gambits as possible, however, others reminded them that probably wouldn’t be possible.
As a reminder, a gambit planet is the planet from which the attack originates. Liberating that planet would simultaneously stop the attack on the designated planet. However, if the designated planet is surrounded by several enemy planets, enemies are attacking from several places. Therefore, there is no gambit. In this case, it seems that the players will be surrounded by enemies, so choosing this strategy wouldn’t be a good idea.
While some players were arguing about strategies, others were intrigued by the possibility of new content. Since they had to defend the Factory Hub, many players assumed that new content was finally coming.
One player recalled: “Well, the Tien Kwan big complex factory was the precursor of Patriot Exo suit (in lore, it was a Morgunson factory at the start of the game). And the Varylia V Automaton petafactory was converted after its successful capture to another Morgunson arsenal, tied to the Emancipator”. So, could the new content be a vehicle?
We can’t know until we actually complete the Major Order, right? So, dear Helldiver, get to defending! There is a lot to fight for, we have to start somewhere. Meet us on Phact Bay, and let’s squish some bugs. For Liberty and Super Earth.
