“20 Million?!” The Latest Major Order Sends Helldivers 2 to Put a Stop on the Invasion of Super Earth

You thought it was over? Not a chance! As you know, Helldivers valiantly fought during the Illuminate’s first attack on Super Earth. Obviously, the players completed the previous MO, with some help from the lovely SEAF troops. Well, it’s time for round 2! The new Major Order dropped, and Helldivers 2 players will have to fry a bunch of Squids and extract from a ridiculous number of successful missions to at least delay the fall of Super Earth.

The Battle for Super Earth Rages on

The invasion of Super Earth began once the Heart of Democracy update dropped. It’s been a horrifying yet wonderful couple of days. Helldivers fought with all their might. Unfortunately, Eagleopolis was lost, but the Major Order was completed.

The new Major Order arrived with a briefing that reflected on the state of Super Earth. Eagleopolis has been ruined. It gave players the idea of what could happen to all the mega cities on Super Earth if they didn’t act.

According to the briefing, the Battle for Super Earth entered a critical stage. The loss the Illuminate suffered weakened them. The Illuminate Fleet Strength stands at 49%, and the players have a chance to further lower it.

The briefing also revealed how crucial it was for Helldivers to defend the remaining mega cities. It stated: “Once they fall, they cannot be reclaimed”. In other words, every mega city the players lose is lost for good.

The briefing also presented the plan of action. It stated: “Following an exhaustive Military Choice-Making Process, the Helldivers are ordered to execute a sustained campaign of successful operations on Super Earth. Completing the targeted number will result in an additional impact to Illuminate Fleet Strength”.

So, what does that mean for Helldivers? They have 3 days and 23 hours left to extract from 20 million successful missions. That’s quite a high number! Furthermore, the players need to hold mega cities. Out of 7 mega cities on Super Earth, one is already lost. If Helldivers lose all the cities, no amount of extracts will bring them back.

Helldivers 2 Players Don’t Love the Current Major Order

Some players would say the current MO is kind of unfair. Aside from being crucial lore-wise, as Super Earth mustn’t fall, this Major Order makes Helldivers 2 players choose efficiency above all else. They have to start the mission, quickly complete it, and extract ASAP. This didn’t sit well with some players.

One player, Individual_Look1634, noted: “I don’t want to complain during the hype… but I really don’t like MOs like that. I want to play level 10 and clear maps, and not feel pressured to do missions quickly. But really, they could have played it better, ‘trivial missions MO weekend’ isn’t very exciting”.

Other players had a bit more analytic approach. NeedsGrampysGun did the math. They explained: “20m/100k = 200. 200/4 players (each player in a mission contributing) = 50. 50/4 days = 12.5 successful extracts per day per player. If 100k do 4 ops per day on average (which my estimate is 1.5-3 hours) we would make it with time to spare. I realize people do have lives. But some of us only live for democracy”.
