This makes Bethesda’s release of the Next-gen update for the game a perfectly timed event.
Release Date for Fallout 4 Next-gen Update
Fallout 4 next-gen update will be released on April 25, 2024. On that day, the update will be available for all players that own the game across all platforms. This update is free for all players who already own the game, regardless of the platform they are using.
Fallout 4 Next-gen Update Platforms
All original platforms that Fallout 4 was released on are included in this update. These include PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Nevertheless, the performance-enhancing part of the update is more oriented towards PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On the other hand, in-game content will be added to all the above-mentioned platforms.
Fallout 4 Next-gen Update Features
The next-gen update for Fallout 4 consists of two things. Firstly there is new content that is added to the game regardless of the platform. Additionally, this update comes with a technical enhancement for next-gen consoles and PCs.
Technical Upgrades
In this update, next-gen consoles are getting performance and quality mode settings in-game, along with stability enhancements and fixes. With these enhancements, you can expect to run the game on up to 60 FPS and with increased resolution. PS4 and Xbox One will receive stability improvements, login, and quest fixes.
Widescreen and ultra-widescreen support is coming as part of the PC upgrade. Furthermore, various stability and bug issues are fixed with this update, and there are also additions to Creation Kit and Quest.
New Content with the Next-gen update
Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade comes with new in-game content, that includes previously released Creation Club content, a new storyline, Makeshift Weapon Pack, and Halloween Workshop.
Enclave Remnants
A new quest in the game “Echoes of the Past” opens a new storyline revolving around The Enclave faction. It is up to the player to stop this Pre-War cabal from spreading through the Commonwealth. This new quest comes with new workshop items and an Enclave Colonel uniform. Additionally, previously released Creation Club items are also included:

Makeshift Weapon Pack
The makeshift weapon pack offers players an assortment of deadly weapons created from unconventional objects. These include a baseball launcher, a piggy bank, and a nail gun.
Halloween Workshop
Decorations form an ill-fated Halloween party, these 38 new Halloween decorations will make your settlement look spooky.
