Fans Hold Their Breath In Anticipation of the Upcoming Elden Ring Patch

Patches are one of the most anticipated updates for many games, and Elden Ring is no different. It’s been over a month since the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and players noticed some issues. As you’d expect, the players claim that some bosses are too powerful, while some items and spells needed changing. The patching will last for a couple of hours, so let’s see what the fans want to see improved in this new Patch 1.13.

Players Want the DLC Content Buffed and a New Mode

In a couple of social media posts, statements like “Hopefully they actually buff stuff in this patch, lots of DLC stuff really deserve a buff”, and ‘Make sure u buff some of the new stuff…” are dominating the comment section. Players seem to be really disappointed with the power level of the DLC, calling for buffs to Rain of Fire and Light of Miquella.

But, apart from the balancing, a lot of players call for a nerf to the infamous boss Radhan. Most of the requests deal with technical issues, as pointed out by ChaosTKnight on X: “I do wish the boss hotboxes of there swords were a little more exact to the swords I’m talking about Radahn he has an extra 2-3 feet on the length”. Another user, named WaffleStart, agrees adding: “A nerf/delay to Radahns one criss cross slash would also be nice”.

Finally, a lot of requests for the Boss Rush mode have been made. But, pH12rz pointed out: “just remember that the boss rush mode was Sekiro’s DLC and was added a year after release just like the colosseum was also considered a DLC.” So, the Boss Ruch mode may be in the works, but it is likely that it will come in a separate DLC, and not as an update.

Not Everything Is About Balance Issues

Surprisingly, a lot of players suffer performance issues. In one Reddit post concerning the upcoming patch expectations, a lot of players talk about performance and FPS issues specifically with Elden Ring.

One user, Caedite, wrote: “I can’t maintain 60fps with low ray tracing consistently while having a 4080 Super, lol. And it’s not my pc’s instability, every other game is fine.” He added: “As much as I love the game itself, the technical aspect is a mess.” further explaining that the frames are locked at 60FPS on PCs and that modern games with regular updates should address these issues.

The situation on X is no better, with Ragehatred1 adding: “Please fix the fps drops and stutter or at least add dlss like how this game still suffers from performance issues two years later god damn”

The patching is almost done, so pretty soon we will see what has been fixed and what issues remain.
