There is a special type of Necromancer’s Skeleton minion that is easily missed. Read this article to see how to summon a Skeletal Priest in Diablo 4.
In Diablo 4, each Class has its own unique mechanics and abilities. Necromancers usually focus on having minions to do their bidding and fight for them. You got Skeletal Warriors, Skeletal Mages, and Golems, all helping you fight the demonic hordes in their own way. But, there is a third type of Skeleton that is often overlooked. Luckily, we are here to help. In this article, you will learn how to summon a Skeletal Priest, what it does, and how to improve it.
How to Summon a Skeletal Priest in Diablo 4
You can summon a Skeletal Priest when you have unlocked the ability to summon Skeletal Mages, at Level 15. But, there is no special Skill that you have to use. Rather, a Skeletal Priest will appear when you try to summon a new Skeleton while having already summoned the maximum number of Skeletal minions. In other words, while your Skeleton army is full, the next summon will result in a Skeletal Priest.
Skeletal Priest Effects
When a Skeletal Priest is summoned, it will heal your minions for 10% of their maximum Life over five seconds, and increase their damage by 20% during that period. Since the cooldown of Raise Skeletons is also five seconds, you can keep casting this to keep your minions alive and buffed constantly.
How to Improve Skeletal Priests
The effects that Skeletal Priests provide can be further improved. There are two passives that can greatly improve the whole Skeletal Priest mechanic.
- Bonded in Essece – This passive will provide a burst of healing when the Skeletal Priest’s 5-second timer expires. It can heal up to 20/40/60%, depending on the Rank.
- Death’s Defiance – While not directly improving your Skeletal Priests, this passive will prevent your minions from being one-shot. Your minions can only lose up to 60/45/30% (depending on the Rank) of their maximum Life from a single hit. This is a great ability to have, especially against Bosses, who can usually destroy your Skeletons with one strike. Pair this with healing provided by Skeletal Priests and you will have an almost unstoppable Skeleton Army.
