Want to find a way to summon the Double Hydra in Diablo 4? Keep reading to find exactly what your Sorcerer needs to do.

The Hydra spell summons a multiheaded hydra that shoots fireballs out at foes, making it just as devastating as it is cool-looking. The only thing that could look cooler? Two-headed enhanced hydra. Thanks to the power of Aspects, this is possible as well. Learn how to get the Double Hydra and take advantage of all your defensive skill and conjuration skills.

This guide will go over how to unlock both the Hydra and Double Hydra, and how to keep the double Hydra effect as your character levels and grows. Two fireball-spitting hydras might be the coolest summon in Diablo 4. So players will want to make sure they keep that ability as they continue to progress through the game.

How Do You Get a Second Hydra in Diablo 4?

Players need to find a legendary item with the extra Hydra ability to cast a second Hydra as well as enough mana. This is a powerful ability, so it is worth the effort to get it.

This can be very difficult to find and will require a bit of grinding. The most consistent way to grind for an item with the extra Hydra ability is to do events to receive Murmuring Obols. Murmuring Obols can be spent at a Purveyor of Curiosities vendor. This will reward players with a selected piece of gear with random rarity.

To go after the extra Hydra ability, it is suggested that players spend their Murmuring Obols on the glove slot item. This is the cheapest possible choice, and there is a legendary glove that gives players a chance at the extra Hydra ability.

How do I Move the Extra Hydra Ability to Other Items in Diablo IV?

To keep the extra Hydra ability, players can extract the aspect that gives the extra Hydra from the legendary item, and then imprint it on a new item. Extracting an Aspect destroys the Legendary it was extracted from. But that allows players to put this ability on a higher-level item. If it is placed on a rare item the rare becomes a legendary. Meanwhile, placing it on a legendary replaces the passive effect that that item has.

By doing this, players can keep the extra Hydra ability without sacrificing item level to keep a low-level legendary. While it will have some costs, the ability to keep a build going for the duration of leveling is priceless. That makes the payment required more than worth it.

How Do Players Unlock the Hydra Spell?

Players can unlock the Hydra spell by spending 11 skill points to unlock the Conjuration tree. After that, spend one more to unlock the Hydra spell.

The Hydra spell isn’t very far down the Sorcerer tree, meaning players will be able to unlock it quickly. There are also boosts that give the Hydra extra heads and more firepower, so players should consider putting extra skill points into it.

At this point, players are limited to having one Hydra at a time. The Sorcerer has numerous other spells to use in addition. These spells include spells like Incinerate, Supreme Inferno, Mystical Frost Nova, Enhanced Ice Armor, Inner Flames, Endless Pyre, and more.
