It’s been a long and challenging weekend full of ups and downs for the fans. As you probably know, a brand-new dungeon was revealed on October 11. The Destiny 2 developers debuted Vesper Station in an event that many players found frustrating and too demanding. However, a new dungeon means more lore, so the players gladly discussed what they had learned and shared their experiences.

A New Dungeon Dropped in Destiny 2

If you’ve tried out the new dungeon, and even read through some of the lore, you probably still have some questions. Several players noted that Bungie was probably trying to bring the mystery back to Destiny 2. Others, like TrailedFox44, had some interesting questions. This player asked three questions that were subsequently answered by another player.

  • Do we know why Atraks is back in the form of The Corrupted Puppeteer?

“For an unknown reason, Atraks has been assimilating the minds of a group of house salvation refugees aboard Vesper station to build the Anomaly. When you reach the final encounter, it looks like she’s worshipping it, so it’s likely she’s acting as the vessel for something greater”.

  • What’s the “anomaly” in the skybox? Like a portal to somewhere?

“It’s unknown what the anomaly actually is, but there’s an audio log implying Atraks was trying to send a message through it with the destination being “incomprehensible”, implying it’s some sort of portal”.

  • Who piloted the Ketch that was slammed into the side of the station? Atraks maybe?

“Just a bunch of house salvation refugees seeking a better life. I can’t remember the names at the top of my head, but you can read about the accounts of a dreg in the dungeon armor lore tabs”.

Players Share Their Biggest Frustrations With Vesper Station

Even though the lore behind Vesper Station intrigued the majority of the Destiny 2 players, some were also frustrated. Many players reported playing for hours upon hours and still not being able to clear it.

FlamesofFrost shared: “16 hours for us and no clear. The closest we got was when we failed to 3 phase it and died to enrage”. Another player, FeelthaVibee, added: “Same, my friends and I had the damage for a 4 phase. Not a 3 phase sadly. Could get through it consistently without dying. Just could not put out the damage lol. Pain”.

However, even though lots of players struggled, some emerged victorious even in failure. One player, dduncke, shared their story. They noted: “I gave up on the final boss because I could never get to second damage phase with any in my teams, so I decided to just go for a normal mode completion. And got Ice Breaker to drop on my first clear lmao. I think I used up all of my RNG for the rest of the year”.

Have you tried Vesper Station? Truth be told, aside from being extremely difficult to clear, we loved it. And, we always enjoy the lore aspect. As you know, the devs announced big changes were coming in their anniversary announcement, so we can’t wait to see what else they come up with. Enjoy the game.
