Mere days after they proclaimed there was no perk weighting, Destiny 2 devs are now looking into possible problems with the RNG code. This investigation was probably urged by numerous fans who shared their experiences in reports online.

Developers Address Possible Problems With the RNG Code

On October 24, the official X account, Destiny 2 Team, shared an announcement. It read: “Regarding further reports of perk weighting: While we have confirmed that there is no intentional perk weighting on weapons within our content setup, we are now investigating a potential issue within our code for how RNG perks are generated”.

The statement continued: “Many thanks to all players who have been contributing to data collection across the community. This data has been monumentally helpful with our investigation, and we are currently working on internal simulations to confirm your findings. We will provide more information as soon as it is available”.

Some Destiny 2 Players Support the Devs

Well, some players were quite doubtful of the Destiny 2 team’s investigation of the RNG code. As you know, Bungie has faced its fair share of controversy, especially recently. So, it isn’t surprising that some players had reservations when it came to this announcement.

One player, Jman noted: “Damn I was called a conspiracy theorist for resonating with the data”. Additionally, TrueVoltz (Voltz#0248) stated: “They literally said nothing was wrong multiple times before today after we provided pretty solid evidence something was wrong”.

However, the majority of players reacted positively to this announcement. Fitzy said: “Everyone’s about to get all the god rolls soon. Thanks for the comms, and curious to see what is said next”.

Another player, D2Clarity, praised: “Appreciate the quick acknowledgment and best of luck to the teams investigating the issue. Really shitty situation that I hope will come to a somewhat satisfactory conclusion”.

We’re just glad that the devs are publicly speaking about this problem. It goes to show that they are taking the players’ criticism seriously. Hopefully, this will be resolved soon and we’ll get to enjoy more favorable draws. So, be patient and try to enjoy Vesper Station in the meantime. See you out there.
