Dead Island 2 is an upcoming open-world action role-playing game, but one question that is being asked by fans of the original Dead Island is that is it open world like the original and how big the map is. We’ve got the answers!
How Big Is the Dead Island 2 Map?
Dead Island 2’s map is broken up into 10 regions. It is not an open-world title like its younger brother. Each of the ten areas varies in size, some being larger than others and some being only a go between them.
You cannot access the 10 regions from the get-go either, you cannot go to the end game area from the start the very start. By playing the story and progressing naturally, other regions begin to unlock. While these areas are pretty expansive, players cannot simply walk directly from one to another, you always have to walk through other areas to get to linking areas, that is, until fast-travel is unlocked.
Instead, they must either fast-travel or reach the entrance point of the map to travel to the neighboring area. Yet, these zone exits are not named, so have fun remembering which exit goes to where at the start of the game.
