After years of waiting, Cities Skylines 2 is about to be rolled out to players who are into city-building titles. Can I Play Cities Skylines 2 Early?
Sorry folks, Cities Skylines 2 doesn’t have early access. This means that even if you pre-ordered the game’s Ultimate Edition, you still have to wait until its release date (October 24, 2023) to play it.
Some would argue that they’ve already seen videos on several video-sharing platforms like YouTube where the game is already being played. Those content creators have likely received an invite from either the developer or the publisher (Paradox Interactive) to try out their game and give their thoughts.
Further, it can be noticed that these content creators have devoted much of their time either playing the previous title or playing a game in a similar genre. Additionally, these folks have already amassed a huge following on their respective channels who share the same passion for city-building games.

- Cities That Come Alive: Follow the lives of individual citizens, from love and loss to wealth and well-being. Player decisions will shape the lives of their city’s citizens.
- A Dynamic World: Pick a map to set the climate and biome of the city. These natural forces will shape the growth of players’ cities as they contend with rising pollution, changeable weather and seasonal challenges.

Will Mods Be Available on Launch Day?
No, it will not. This was recently revealed in a blog post by its publisher. Don’t fret, it was also addressed in another post that mod support and tools will go live post-launch. Of course, provided that the new game’s in-depth editor is no longer in beta testing. Paradox didn’t disclose a definite date on when will it be out of beta. However, players and modders can at least breathe a sigh of relief nonetheless.
