Do You Have To Buy the Broken Butterfly in Resident Evil 4 Remake?
You cannot find the Broken Butterfly in the Castle in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, like in the original game. It is not one of the treasures you can collect, nor can you find it anywhere. You can only get the Broken Butterfly by buying it from Chapter 7 onwards from the Merchant after defeating Mendez and entering the Castle grounds.
If you purchase the Broken Butterfly straight away from our friend, the Merchant, you can get it at a special discount price of 29,400 Pesetas, and you get the Magnum Ammo thrown in for free is worth 7,000 Pesetas. However, if you do not buy it, the price will increase to 42,0000 Pesetas, and you must purchase the Magnun Recipe separately.

Is the Broken Butterfly Worth Getting in Resident Evil 4 Remake?
If you’re looking to gain an edge against the starting sections of the Castle in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the Broken Butterfly is a great weapon and is worth getting. But only if you can afford it, and depending on the difficulty you are on. If you are playing on Assisted, it’s not worth it, but playing it on Standard, it’s 100% worth it.
The Broken Butterfly is effective against enemies who use armor and wooden shields and can easily take down mutant parasitic monsters. Plus, you don’t have to invest in any upgrades immediately.
While you may be tempted to save up your currency after glancing at the upgrade prices, you will have more than enough spare cash later down the line, so do not worry about purchasing an upgrade or two here. Upgrading the power or rate of fire can improve the Broken Butterfly’s overpowering resiliency in combat, although it’s still effective even at its default stats.
