Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was released on October 25. It is the latest installment of the popular Call of Duty franchise, where the players are rogue operatives during the end of the Cold War. Of course, the game also has the ever-popular Multiplayer mode and fan-favorite Zombies mode. The price for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in the UK is around £57. But, ASDA, a famous supermarket chain, offers a considerable £17 discount on Call of Duty Black Ops 6 if you get the coupon via their special Rewards app. This is a great deal which resulted in COD: BO6 getting sold out in just a couple of hours, and causing massive headaches for ASDA employees.

“Get Black Ops 6 at a Considerable Discount this Weekend via the ASDA Rewards App”

In the United Kingdom, there is a supermarket chain called ASDA, that has its own special ASDA Rewards app, where you earn points by shopping that you can turn into valuable vouchers. The important bit is that the app offered a deal where you can get Call of Duty Black Ops 6 for only £40. One of the announcements, this one from LADbible, said: “Yep, you’ve read that correctly, you can get Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 instore today for only £40 with ASDA Rewards. If you were planning on getting Black Ops today on PS5, PS4 or Xbox, @ASDA are giving you a £16 off coupon on the ASDA Rewards App” The offer is valid until the end of the weekend, ie, Sunday.

App Crashed, Stores Sold Out

The problem here is that because of this discount, the stores were quickly out of all CoD: BO6 copies. It was a matter of hours. And, of course, the app itself started crashing, as thousands and thousands of fans wanted to use that discount. This resulted in a really chaotic (and miserable) day for all ASDA employees. “Store opens at 6, [CoD: BO6 copies] were gone by 8 lol. Inventory says 0 left next delivery 7/11.” said SuspiociousAf on ASDA’s Reddit page, and No_Measurement76 added: “Cannot tell you how much I’ve been asked by customers about that stupid voucher and about the rewards app crashing.“

On the question of whether the stores will get a restock before the offer expires on Monday, we got conflicting answers. “Was told in my local store they were expecting a delivery over night.” says Feeling-Method-4315, but another user said: “Ours is a small store but we aren’t getting anything else until Monday.”

In conclusion, if you are from the UK and have a large ASDA supermarket nearby, chances are you could get your hands on Call of Duty Black Ops 6 at a discount, if you get there early enough, and the app goes back online. A lot of variables there, but it is worth it.

Update: COD: BO6 Is Still Unavailable

Surprisingly enough, even two months after the incident, if you go to ASDA’s website, you’ll find that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is still unavailable. We hope it is due to Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, or else will see a lot of disappointed fans.
