Black Ops 6 is finally here! The initial reviews were fabulous, however, as time passes, more and more issues arise. The most recent complaint of Black Ops 6 players is multiplayer maps. Now, as you probably know, there were some concerns about map sizes and maps in general even before the release, but the players still had higher expectations.
Black Ops 6 Players Express Their Concern Over Maps
According to many players, the multiplayer maps left a lot to be desired in Black Ops 6. The community gathered on Reddit and, unfortunately, they did manage to agree that the maps should have been better thought-out.
One player, vans_onmyfeet, stated: “There’s a lot to like about this game. However, the multiplayer maps are not one of those things. It’s just such a huge component of the game to f**k up. I find them so disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, some are okay. Most are complete a**”.
Truth be told, we’ve heard of games that were quite mediocre but managed to grow a huge audience because they had good maps. So, in some cases, maps could be the factor to make or break the game. Still, Black Ops 6 has many amazing additions such as Omnimovement that partially compensate for what the maps are lacking.
What’s Wrong With Multiplayer Maps?
Players gladly shared their two cents on what the biggest issues were and what needed to change. Lights9 shared: “Felt they all were so small that it was hard to use positioning or skill expression on them because the engagements felt so cluttered or random as a result. The bomb sites were 4 seconds away from each other. It started feeling like it was a random cowboy duel each engagement”.
Another player, slayer-x, noticed: “The maps really don’t feel like traditional Treyarch 3-lane design. Lowtown is absolutely terrible IMO. Some feel more like IW-designed maze-like maps with tons of windows and angles”.
Janzu93 added: “Feels every map has at least 100 small hidden peak holes and windows you can shoot through. Then there’s the overused water element that somehow feels even worse than previously”.
So, according to players, the biggest problems are map sizes and the fact that you can’t be aware of all the shooting spots, as there are way too many of them. Also, the maze-like designs ruin the flow. Well, we believe the devs truly appreciate this kind of feedback. Even though the reviews of maps weren’t positive, they were constructive, so the devs might be able to make some changes that’d please the players. We’ll all have to wait and see what they come up with. Until then, enjoy the game the best you can, and see you out there. Will you see us, or will it be too late?
