Ever since its release, the fans have been slightly disappointed with the game. Although the hit reg, matchmaking, or spawning issues leave a lot to be desired, players could still live with these problems. However, they called one annoying problem game-breaking, as it gave an unfair advantage to people using one category of Perks exclusively. Thankfully, a Black Ops 6 dev recently confirmed that a Recon nerf is in the works.
Why Does Recon Need a Nerf?
As you know, if you combine three Perks from the same Combat Specialty (Enforcer, Recon, Strategist), you get a Bonus Perk. Now, the Enforcer and the Strategist Bonus Perks both give an edge to the player. However, the Recon Bonus Perk turns any player into the deadliest player around.
Well, the good news is that the devs are working on solving this problem. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement, one dev confirmed the news. Matt Scronce, an Associate Director at Treyarch, answered some questions on X. Of course, the fans wanted to know if the devs would nerf Recon soon. Matt Scronce simply replied: “Incoming”.
Black Ops 6 Fans Suggest Recon Replacements
As you may have expected, many Black Ops 6 players were incredibly happy when they found out a Recon nerf was coming. One player, sickflow-, joked: “Half the community will stop crying now and the other half will start”.
However, other players actually came up with some good ideas on how to fix the Recon Bonus. RilesPC suggested: “One static enemy ping seems fine – no tracking or outline, just a basic ping like what you would do while in-game. That or just remove it, the passive of being able to tell if people can you see out while you don’t have LOS is already amazing on its own”.
Another player, Dizconekt, suggested a simple, yet elegant solution. This player noted: “It really shouldn’t be a feature but I wouldn’t mind if the change was to only the player who killed you not the entire team”. Dozens of players confirmed this was a great idea.
Whatever they choose to replace the Reckon Bonus with, we’re sure it’ll allow for a more balanced game. Also, it’s great to see that the devs are actually listening to the players’ feedback. That goes to show true dedication. So, enjoy the game, and see you out there.
