Season 1 is off to a good start, with players actually liking the new maps and mostly enjoying the gameplay. However, one game-breaking detail is ruining the experience for many players. Now, Black Ops 6 fans worldwide are calling the damage that headshots make “ridiculous”.

What’s Going on With Headshots?

If you enjoy playing any of the Call of Duty installments, or any FPS games in general, you know how satisfying a headshot can be. It’s tricky to achieve, but it usually grants the player a one-shot kill, so it’s worth the hustle. However, Black Ops 6 players noticed that for this game it might not be.

One player, dressing_gown_man, shared a short clip showing this player getting shot in the head twice, shaking them off, and then carrying on like nothing happened. This player noted: “Headshots? Just shake em off”.

Call us old, but this wasn’t possible a while back. Another player, nothing_in, shared a suggested damage map. In this picture, you can see that a headshot isn’t much stronger than any other shot.

This image left the Black Ops 6 players almost speechless and certainly shocked. Leading_Stuff_5559 joked: “Damn, that’s why I felt my headshots weren’t doing s**t. They literally didn’t”.

Black Ops 6 Players Ask for More Damage

As you may have expected, this revelation about headshots didn’t sit too well with Black Ops 6 players. Many pointed out how headshots weren’t worth it anymore and wondered what the point was in even trying to achieve one.

One Redditor, useroffline_, elaborated: “Headshot multipliers have been in games for decades. And, it should be rewarded because it takes skill to consistently place your shots at head level on a fast-moving enemy, which is already a small target relative to the rest of the body. The fact that it takes 4 headshots to kill is ridiculous, especially with how amped up the movement is in this game specifically”.

However, DWShadow explained why the devs made a controversial decision such as this one. They said: “The devs stated they didn’t want to repeat the headshot dilemmas from previous CoDs where you could get shot and the flinch would kick you up to the head to get a faster kill. In theory, this is a novel attempt to make headshots viable while still requiring more skill to properly handle the faster ttk. In practice though, their attempt seems a bit off”.

So, what do you think? Was this a viable attempt by the devs, or should they think about rebalancing the headshots? In our humble opinion, it takes some skill to get a headshot, especially with the new Omnimovement, and it should be rewarded. After all the controversies this game has faced since its launch, we hope the devs will listen to the players. In the meantime, enjoy the game, and, especially if you are trying out the Green Dragon skin, watch out for those headshots.
