Black Ops 6 Players Accuse the Devs of a Sneaky Nerf of the XP Rates

As you know, the hype for the Preseason of Black Ops 6 was enormous. Unfortunately for the players, once the Preseason started, many issues arose. Players experienced problems with matchmaking and hit reg, maps were either too small, or didn’t have a flow, and don’t even get them started on Recon. Although the devs announced new maps were coming, and confirmed they were working on a Recon fix, a new problem appeared. Reportedly, the Black Ops 6 devs might have used the Double XP weekend to nerf the XP rates.

Was the Nerf Announced in the Patch the Only One?

Now, if you’ve been reading patch notes, you might wonder how it was sneaky, as they did mention adjusting XP rates. However, the patch notes from November 4 actually reportedly introduced a second nerf to XP rates. The players noticed a “soft” nerf for the Double XP weekend (November 1-4), which was then followed by another one on November 4.

So, the announced nerf wasn’t a problem, as the players knew what to expect. Treyarch even mentioned this “adjustment” in the announcement. They noted: “Patch Notes for today’s Black Ops 6 update are now live! Assault Rifle, SMG, and Shotgun weapon tuning. Perk & Scorestreak updates. XP earn rate adjustments + more”.

Black Ops 6 Players Noticed Something Was up With the XP Rates

However, many Black Ops 6 players noted that they were surprised to see a second nerf to the XP rates on November 4. Now, keep in mind that there is no actual proof that the devs nerfed the XP rates in the first place, other than the players’ testimonials, of course!

One player, tehfadez1, shared their observations with the community. This player explained how before all of this they used to run Moshpit and gain between 5k and 10k XP per game. For the Double XP weekend, they expected to get around 12k XP on average. However, their average was only 7-8k.

This player added: “Now, yesterday they released patch notes saying they nerfed Moshpit exp rates. I thought they had nerfed them already and just coming out publicly with it now. But again I played Moshpit for an hour using the same class, and what do you know? I only gained 65k exp for the hour, with my best game being 8k. They soft nerfed exp rates as they launched double exp weekend, and then nerfed them again yesterday”.

Other players confirmed they had similar experiences. Guilhermex12 stated: “I thought I was the only one who was thinking about it yesterday. Nuketown is giving s**tty XP again. Didn’t try other maps”.

Another player, joeldiramon, said: “I like how they tell you how many hours you’ve played in very prestige. For Prestige 1 without double XP it took me 18 hrs to finish. Now, with double XP, Prestige 2 and 3 only took me 16, almost the same with a little bump lol”.

Truth be told, we didn’t pay much attention to XP while we were playing over the weekend, so we can’t confirm this. However, an overwhelming number of players did, and they are quite unhappy with the devs. Have you noticed the nerf to the XP rates?
