As you know, the Preseason of this game had a rough start. Players had numerous valid complaints, starting with the basics like matchmaking and hit reg, all the way to the recent “sneaky” nerf. However, one of the biggest problems turned out to be the maps. Whether the maps were too small, or the flow was bad, players have been asking for better maps since the very start. To appease them, the devs added Nuketown and announced new maps coming in Season 1. Still, none of this prevented the jokes the Black Ops 6 players made upon seeing an exaggerated fan-made map.
Introducing Hallway, A Fan-Made Map
Truth be told, we laughed when we saw this idea. One extremely creative player, Doug_HF, offered a design for a new map. This player noted: “My concept for a new Season One map. What do you guys think?”.
According to the picture the OP posted, the map is called Hallway. It’s a 12v12 Strike map. The description states: “Hallway takes the battle to… you guessed it! A hallway. Fight your enemies in our smallest map until next Season”.
The map itself is one long rectangular room. There are no doors or windows and there is nowhere to hide. Still, many players went as far as joking that it had way better flow than some of the existing maps.
Black Ops 6 Players Loved the New Map Idea
What we truly appreciate in the Black Ops Community is that the players can take (and make) a joke, like this fan-made map. Since the OP debuted this idea, it received more than 6,3k upvotes and more than 500 comments. No one complained, no one was insulted, and the players just took the joke even further with their creative comments.
One player, jonizerror, noted: “I can’t wait for the Season 2 map “Room”. It’ll be perfect for people who think the Hallway is too big”. Other players chirped in with suggestions for “Closet” and “Pantry” maps for Seasons 3 and 4.
Of course, some players joked that this map would take care of some of the existing problems, like Recon. One Redditor, TheGoldenCaulk, stated: “Well, it’s recon-proof. I’ll give it that”. All jokes aside, a nerf for Recon should be on its way.
It’s good to see the community relaxed and in high spirits. Season 1 is starting very soon, so we hope that some of the announced maps will bring back that old CoD feeling. Only one way to find out if the developers succeeded – see you out there.
