November 20, 2024, marks the start of Season 1 Ranked in Black Ops 6. Unfortunately, the trend of rough starts has continued, and many players experienced numerous game crashes. Also, as with anything competitive, the number of cheaters seems to have skyrocketed.
Season 1 Ranked Is Live!
On the evening of November 20, Treyarch posted an announcement on their official X page. It marked the start of Season 1 Ranked in Black Ops 6 and listed all the highlists. Among them are 4v4 Competitive Matches, Custom Competitive Ruleset, Special Launch Weapon Evaluation, Exclusive Rewards, 8 Ranks to Climb Through, Map & Mode Veto, Global Weapon Builds, and top 250 Leaderboard.
Treyarch noted: “Play like the pros in the definitive Ranked Play experience that we’ve been building toward since 2021. Climb the Ranks and show off your progress with new Black Ops 6 Rewards and in-game social features”. Of course, they also posted an overview of Season 1 Ranked rewards.
Black Ops 6 Players Report Hackers and Crashes in Ranked
Players were justifiably hyped for the start of Ranked. However, that hype was very short-lived. It took players a game or two to find out that the conditions were less than perfect. Many players complained that the number of cheaters was way too high, making it impossible for regular players to even make a mark.
One player, central control, complained: “Force us against pc cheaters and get rid of kill cams so we can’t see what they’re doing. Great ideas”. Another player, Zinc, noted: “Played 2 games both had hackers aimbotting”.
Hackers aside, many players reported a glitch where they were stuck after finishing a match and had to restart the game. One of them, lummi, pleaded: “Anyone else’s game crashing after every ranked game? Pls, I must play”. Another player, Cristian Gonzalez shared: “Every time you finish a game you get stuck in an endless cinematic”.
Well, we hope the devs are on it, as it can be quite annoying having to restart the game after every match. There have been quite a few complaints since the start of Season 1, however, given the devs’ efforts, we think these issues will be resolved soon. Good luck in Ranked!
