Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’ve missed something until you have a chance to get it back. From September 6 to September 9, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 players will have a chance to play an old fan-favorite game mode during the Open Beta.

A Blast From the Past – Call of Duty Game Mode Returns in Open Beta

When the devs announced available game modes for the second weekend of the Open Beta, veteran CoD players were surprised and delighted to find out Gunfight was making a return. The description read: “Gunfight: Eliminate all enemy players using pre-determined classes to win the round. No respawns”.

For all of you who haven’t tried out this game mode yet, Masked555 offered a summary. This player stated: “2v2 on small maps, single life rounds with the exact same loadout (switches every two rounds). If a single team is not eliminated within a minute or so, a flag appears in the middle of the map. Who gets the flag, wins. Rounds go to 6”.

The reason why Gunfight is so loved is because having the exact loadout allows everyone to be equal. So, players claim this mode is probably the best one to show off their skill. Honestly, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it in MW 2019.

Black Ops 6 Players Are Excited to Try Out Gunfight

As you may have expected, many Call of Duty fans raved about this mode coming to Black Ops 6 Open Beta. The biggest wish they had was for Gunfight to be available even after the Open Beta. One player, aj9393, said: “I hope they actually do something with Gunfight in the full release. It was my favorite mode in MW2019, and I miss all the variations (snipers only, knives only, etc)”.

EXTIINCT_tK added: “I remember how sick it felt on the MW19 Alpha. Always been a Gunfight fan, even when we were getting almost no f**king content in MWIII. Happy to see it getting attention again”.

Of course, some players would love to see some improvements to this mode, as well. One player, dudedudetx, noted: “Love me some Gunfight but it would be so much better if footsteps were silent by default in that game mode. It’s basically a who can crank their headset louder when both teams are good”.

That might make Gunfight more challenging, that’s true. At the same time, we don’t think it’s necessary, as this game mode is extremely fun as is. We do have high hopes for the second weekend of the Open Beta. As you know, the early access fulfilled the players’ expectations, as they thoroughly enjoyed all the details and new additions. Enjoy the Open Beta weekend and Gunfight.
