Baldur’s Gate 3 offers up several different difficulty modes, allowing you to take on greater challenges as you explore the realm of the game and take your chances in combat with the bosses found within. While both the Normal and Tactician settings can prove to be rather tough even for experienced players, Honor Mode brings forth perhaps the most harrowing experience. This difficulty is not for the faint of heart, lending intimidating strength to your foes with new Legendary Actions at their disposal. Here’s a look at the moves bosses are working with in Honor Mode.

What Are Legendary Actions in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Honor Mode was introduced to Baldur’s Gate 3 with Patch 5, bringing with it new tricks for bosses to use in combat: Legendary Actions. While these generally refer to devastating attacks, that’s not all the term includes, and not every boss comes equipped with special moves or tactics. At times, your opponent may summon other bosses you’ve encountered or even an unfamiliar foe.

That being said, the implementation of these actions is certainly something to watch out for, as they can be used at the end of each turn. Combined with the addition of permadeath for party members, the stakes couldn’t be much higher when you enter a boss battle in Honor Mode.
