Arena Mode has become a staple of the AC franchise. In a sense, the latest entry in this series, Armored Core 6, would feel hollow without it. How to Unlock the Arena in Armored Core 6?
You unlock the Arena after completing the Operation Wallclimber mission in the main storyline. It is the 8th mission in Chapter 1 of the Armored Core 6 campaign. That means that it can be completed in the opening 2-3 hours of the game.
Although the Arena is a core feature of Armored Core 6, it isn’t readily available for players to access. You don’t really have to do anything extra to unlock this mode, it only requires some patience and progression through the main campaign. Once you beat Operation Wallclimber, you can partake in the glorious mech battles of the Arena.
What is the Arena Mode in Armored Core 6?
Arena Mode consists of gladiator-style simulated battles against other exceptionally strong, computer-controlled mech units. These Arena fights can be intense and test your mercenary skills against other ACs, as you move through the ranks and compete in more challenging fights. These ranks range from the lowest of F to the highest of S, which are the true testament to your mercenary skills. The glory and rewards achieved through winning your Arena battles give you an exciting adrenaline rush, which is why this feature is so cherished among the AC fanbase.

Arena Mode Rewards
While the thrill and rush of the battle are enough to incentivize you to engage in Arena battles, you certainly get some unique rewards from being victorious in these fights. For defeating each mech in the Arena you get their decal, which can be used on your own mech. Furthermore, you also get some credits which can be used to purchase essential upgrades.
However, the most unique rewards you obtain from these fights are the OST Chips. After unlocking the Arena, you also acquire the ability to upgrade your unit’s Operating System through OS Tuning. These upgrades are essential to providing you with various offensive, defensive, and movement buffs. OS Tuning comes at the cost of OST Chips, which can only be found by winning Arena battles.
