Are Divine Beasts in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Divine beast glides in the sky in zelda tears of the kingdom

One of the major objectives of Breath of the Wild was clearing the four Divine Beast dungeons so that their powers could be used to defeat Ganondorf. However, these beasts seem to be completely missing from Tears of the Kingdom. We have been wondering how this could make sense with the Divine Beasts being so powerful.

This piece will look at the role of the Divine Beasts in the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Will Tears of the Kingdom have Diving Beasts?

None of the trailer footage provides us with an answer to this question. However, this may be a red herring from Nintendo as they try to conceal the events of the game. The Divine Beasts are extremely powerful entities that even Ganondorf was unable to completely defeat.

Furthermore, we will be exploring the same map as the previous game. So, it doesn’t make sense to exclude the Divine Beasts in this franchise. This, however, leads to another question.

What happens to the Divine Beasts in Tears of the Kingdom?

If the Divine Beasts cannot simply disappear then what happens to them? Well, one theory suggests that this new enemy is much more powerful than Ganondorf. It’s possible that they were able to shut down the technology powering the Divine Beasts.

In fact, the power Link is seen using in the trailers is nothing like the ancient Sheikah technology. Instead, Link is making use of green glowing energy. The Divine Beasts might not be enough to pose a threat. Hence, it might be relegated to the background in Tears of the Kingdom.

It is also possible that the Hylians themselves sealed the Divine Beasts away to avoid them getting corrupted once more. Another possibility is the Divine Beasts entering a state of slumber or leaving after having served their purpose. We’re going to have to wait on confirmation from Nintendo to be sure about anything regarding the Divine Beasts.

However, this may be good news for players who wanted to see dungeons make a return in the new Zelda games. The Divine Beasts, while powerful, trivialized a lot of the game’s combat and served as pseudo dungeons. It will be fun to see proper dungeons being implemented once more in Breath of the Wild style.
