Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Who is Isabelle and How Do You Get Her?

Player speaks with Isabelle at the Town Hall front desk in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If you’re working to increase the rank of your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, then you might be wondering: Who is Isabelle? And how do you get her on your island? We have your answer here. Let’s get into the details.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll build and populate an island of your very own from scratch. When you’re first starting out, this can seem like a daunting task. In past entries to the series, characters like Tom Nook and Isabelle were always around to offer their services. While both will take positions at Resident Services in New Horizons, there are a few things you’ll need to do before Isabelle arrives in town. If you’re unfamiliar with the peppy yellow-haired pup, then you might be curious who she is and how to get her to your island. Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is Isabelle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

In New Horizons, Isabelle is a key staff member at Resident Services. She’s reliably found inside the Town Hall building, where she works behind the counter. She can help you with inquiries about resident satisfaction, the town’s rating, and any complaints you may have about the villagers on your island, just as she has in past Animal Crossing titles. You’ll know she’s at your service when you hear her signature bells ringing.

How to Get Isabelle on Your Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Isabelle will take a position at Resident Services on your island as you naturally progress through New Horizons. Before she arrives, you’ll need to accomplish several early-game tasks. These include building a bridge, constructing three houses for future residents, and filling each one with a new move-in. In all, this should take at least three days in real-time, but it depends on how quickly you’re able to collect any resources you need.

Once you’ve reached your goal, Tom Nook will make an announcement and Isabelle will introduce herself to the island’s residents. This will mark an upgrade to the fully realized Resident Services building, where you’ll find both characters working the counter moving forward.
