While every virtue increases the HP stat, the Wood Virtue will improve it more than the rest. Therefore, dumping points in the wood stat is perfect for a tanky build and new players. In addition, it also increases the spirit defense stat, making your spirit gauge more robust. Tankiness aside, this virtue also buffs the spell duration stat for a prolonged effect.

The Earth Virtue increases your spirit gain rate on deflects. Thus, each deflect fills your spirit gauge more efficiently. In addition, the earth virtue is another defense-oriented virtue that increases your maximum weight capacity, allowing you to don heavier equipment.
