Hideo Kojima: “Mission Unlocked” – interview with The New Yorker
"It has been a difficult year for Hideo Kojima. Although Metal Gear Solid V, the project that the video-game director worked on for more than five years, launched in September to enviable sales and widespread acclaim, its creation was not without complications. In mid-March, the game’s Japanese publisher, Konami, removed Kojima’s name and that of his studio, Kojima Productions, from its Web site and the game’s box.
On Tuesday, the breakup was made semi-official, in the form of a corporate memo that Konami reputedly leaked to Nikkei, perhaps as a way of preëmpting Kojima’s optimistic statement on Twitter the following day."
