I wouldn't go that far. It was certainly a case of being a terribly unoptimized shooter that had broken concepts (****ing stealth) but deserves a bit of credit for breaking new ground in the "survival FPS" subgenre.

I meant ps3 owners. If i had a pc i would play it on pc because it's better in there. I don't say anything as a fanboy. This is their first game on playstation so not a lot know them. i'm just saying support it because they make good games..

^^^^ How bout just buy a game because you want to play it... not to support anyone or anything else other than your own entertainment and recreation. And if gamers wanna get all high and mighty about prentending to boycott every company that "unfairly" sells DLC or online passes, etc, then go ahead and try to stick to your guns... before you know it you wont be able to play anything but half-assed indie games.

On topic: I defintiely thought MEtro 2033 was a very underrated game.. Andwhere that game got 6 and 7's in review scores, with Last Light getting 8's and 9's I just cant imagine how awesome it must be!

I'm currently replaying Metro 2033. I loved it when I first played it.

Playing it a second time, you do spot it's flaws. But they don't ruin the game :)

Looks very promising from what I've seen. I do hope this one is a bit better in terms of optimization. Metro 2033 may still be the most graphically demanding game I have. But Metro does make horrible, radioactive wastelands look good, which is quite an accomplishment. They did a great job with the creepy atmosphere in the previous game.

Wow, that must be some laptop. I have an overclocked 2600K and two GTX 670 4MB cards in SLI, and Metro 2033 is more demanding than any game I have at max.

You must have an issue with your PC if that something at that spec is struggling.

I didn't say it was struggling. I said it was more demanding. It draws more power and heats up the cards more. Curiously, benchmarks consistently suggest other people have this same "issue" with their PCs. Or maybe it's just the obvious fact that Metro 2033 is a very demanding game. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by denying that. Metro 2033 has been a game that was used in tests for multicard setups when new, high end cards have been released. That doesn't happen with games that are easy to run.

My laptop is pretty powerful. In fairness I am running it on DX9 rather than 11 on very high with everything i'm aware of turned on and it runs perfectly.

To your above comment, colour me surprised. I had no idea it was reknowned as such a power hungry game.

I wasn't trying to argue with you AKS but considering your rig i'm flabberghasted that Metro would put any demands on it at all. Even in DX11.

DX9? You have a peculiar idea of what "max" means, then. You aren't using some of the most demanding effects. If you enabled DX11, your performance would be cut to a small fraction of the frames you're getting now.

Try searching Metro 2033's DX11 benchmarks.

Looks like it should be better than the first. I just hope for better optimization on PC and more graphics options. The things I had to do just to change the horrible FOV + lack of vsync that is still unstable after enabling.

Everyone should know that the game cuts you from a difficulty/mode that was standard in the first game if you don't preorder.

Keep that in mind as the non-watchdog gaming media gives it 9s and 10s galore.

And you should know that it wasn't standard in the first game as it was added as DLC based on community input later on.

Nice review.. I just pre-ordered it. Hopefully GS sends another copy to the store, the associate I believe said they had already sent the pre-orders to the store and they had 13 for xbox and 5 for ps3.

Hope my copy gets added to those numbers.. I mean I did it today on saturday... so I would think everything would go through and I can pick up my copy on tuesday.
