"Final Fantasy XIII should come to Xbox 360", says Sakaguchi

"It makes so much sense to me", comments Blue Dragon man and FF creator.

After leaving the company to bring his RPG duo Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey to Xbox 360, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi says that Square Enix should bring Final Fantasy to Microsoft's console.

The Mistwalker boss told Gamespot: "I feel that the Final Fantasy series should come to Xbox 360 as well. This is wise. It makes so much sense to me...it has so much potential in North America and in Europe. So there's a great chance for the series to succeed on 360 as well."

3 - I'm no fan of this game at all.

But... I do understand that the Final fantasy games are very expensive to create. The PS3 just dose not have the install base for a big profit. So a 360 addition should seem like a smart move to the business savvy.

I might seem like a rock head. But I do have a problem with playing with game characters that look like Man chicks or metrosexuals. Just cannot get down with that $#!t. But I do think a 360 version will make them some bread.

keep you fanboy comments to yourself. square enix would make a TON more money if they brought the game to 360 as well. there are PLENTY more 360s in homes right now and avoiding 14 million gamers who would definatly buy this game is just plain dumb, but if high profile games like teh FF series DID come to 360 I could definatly see a monopoly in the works and the console war would end up with the cheaper console being the winner and then we wouldnt have a choice in the future as to what console you would want to buy.

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are being publish by ms gaming studio. Im not totally sure but if that's the case then it can't get ported unlike 'UBIsoft' enchanted arms. I also heard that 2 final fantasy games are being made or ported to the xbox 360 last year. No source of this since it was a old article but if anybody remembers then can you please post this.

i would be more than happy for ps3 to take some of the 360 exclusives. if it will bring FFXIII and MGS4 to 360 than its worthwhile considering those are the only 2 series that 360 fans would care about getting.

I've little doubt this game would sell very well on the 360, with a userbase of over 10million, it would seem illogical for Square not to release it.

But Final Fantasy is symbolic to the PlayStation brand and I doubt Sony would ever let it pass through it's fingers. For the sake of the PS3 - it musn't ever.

Actually there already was a Final Fantasy game for microsoft, a little thing that went online, remember that Says you, oh wait sure you don't fan boy. lol

Anyway I don't see this one coming over as this is something Sony would spend alot of money to prevent. They would offer an arm and a leg to keep this off a microsoft console, as this is a system seller for Sony, and they are pretty dependent on Final Fantasy being exclusive. So you definitely wont see this happen. Would sell like hotcakes, and will for PS3 regardless. Not a huge fan of the game since the nintendo days, but it has been amazing looking in the last few years and this one should be breathtaking visual wise as well.

But I haven't been a FF fan since FF7. I am a bigger fan of the Super Nintendo ones anyway... I'm currently playing through FF6 again, formerly FF3, which is my absolute most favorite one. I wish they were more in that style again.

I own both systems and I have to say I hope FF stays a PS3 only game that way FF13 will use the power of the PS3 over not being a top of the line game that uses all the power of one system. Plus if FF was to go onto the 360 I could see some people wanting FF over Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. So if FF stays a PS3 only game I see the Mistwalker games selling a lot better.

That being said I can't wait to buy all the games. I just wonder why Mistwalker would want to compete with Sqaure Enix unless Hironobu Sakaguchi wants to see how well His games sell compared to the SE games. So may be for future games He could see what people like over one game then add the stuff people like to his.

But like I said I hope this does not happen I do not want to see a watered down FF game. I like the FF series and I know they have been really great games so if a watered down game is what we would get out of seeing them on more then one system keep it to only one.

I think Mistwalker games will be great and I think Sqaure Enix games will be great. But if say for future games both the 360 and PS3 get the same game there would be more of a chance the game will not be optimized to use the hardware. So like I said I hope the game will stay on the system they where made for then I can buy the other game on the other system and have great games over a watered down game.

That is my say on the matter.

I can't believe I am going to start a fight with you I have much better things to do but I have to tell you that you sound like a Fanboy. May be the 360 is not selling really well in Japan but that does not make it a crappy system. I own all the main systems and handhelds and I like each one for different reasons. As of right now I think the 360 has the upper hand. I like my PS3 but there are not that many games out for it and I could say the same thing about the Wii. Now this is only me. Some people may like the games that are out right now.

I bought systems because I know what games will come out in the future.
So right now I may not be the biggest fan of the Wii and PS3 games right now but in the future I know I will like them.

So please grow up and it is not just you I am saying this in General. I like playing video games but Fanboy's really take the fun out of the game. Bashing this and that just because you do not own the system.

Now I know not every one has the money to go out and buy every system that comes out. But just because you do not does not give you the right to bash it. I am pretty sure there is at least one game you would like to play from another system.

I know I will get bashed for this but at the end of the day I do not care because I get to play all the great games and have not allied myself with only one console.

Yes you said there were no FF games on xbox, and I pointed out there was one, because financially it made sense for them to do so. And I do doubt a port of a Final Fantasy single player game to the Xbox 360, its not because of your fanboyish reasons: its a boring system, or that its garbage, or because of monopoly reasons lol, more because Sony is in need of some system selling exclusives and would shell out alot of money to keep it exclusive. They would lose more money on an annoucement of FF on 360, than on the decision to include blu-ray and eat the costs.

All I have to say is 127,000. If the PS3 keeps selling like this in NA and Japan , pretty much expect it.

Developers are not console fanboys , they are multimillion dollar corporations. From what I could gather Japan has been paying attention to the PS3 sales numbers in NA and obviously Japan and some developers are starting to panic. If it does not outsell the 360 in the March NPD , OR WORSE YET GOES LOWER OR STAYS AT 127,000. Expect announcments.

Though it might not be used for the next Final Fantasy game, SE's licensing of the Unreal Engine 3 development tools indicates that it recognizes the need for multi-platform development.

It may be too late for a quick port of Final Fantasy XIII--what with its prorietary PS3-optimized engine--but that's not to say that SE won't bring it to the Xbox 360 at some point. That said, having a small install base for XIII isn't as much a concern as some might think. The PS3 is doing much better in Japan than in the US, so there should be a decent, if not good, install base by the time XIII comes out. XIV will probably have no problem finding a couple million buyers on the PS3 platform by the time it arrives; so there isn't this need to worry too much about adding another platform. Wouldn't hurt to have a few million more sales; but Squaresoft likes to focus on the next FF game after finishing one rather than working on ports.

to see another final fantasy on the 360. Final Fantasy XI was the first step to show that they're interested in the 360 (even though its a 5 year old port *rolls eyes*) and with the semi-announcement of an MMORPG and Square aiming for a world wide success, I could see another Final Fantasy game coming the 360... FFXIII? Probably not, but it'd be nice =D I would trade Bioshock's exclusivity for FFXIII's anytime hehe.

This is a great series, i'm a big fan, i mean "I BIG FAN" REAL BIG. I love this game so much and i don't even know y i did not get FF10, FF11 and FF12. I think im gonna get FF12 next week and play it on my ps3. So they can't profit at all from their productions? They'd say "no thanks". PlayStation 3 programming is not easy, you spend more time, you spend more money, yet install base is small right now so it's most likely that profits will not be high right now. Maybe in a year or two it will be balanced and will have a charm for developers.

Mistwalker and Square Enix are not like EA. They just do not cast whatever they have out and in front of gamers. They work hard, plan very-well, work in long terms and of course aim for profit, instead of just releasing some expansion like games with small upgrades. So that's what he was talking about. Square works hard, but to make it worth, 360 would be a good system of choice as well.
