Co-op confirmed for Call of Duty 5 (PC/PS3/360)

Activision has confirmed the newest instalment in the Call of Duty series will feature an online co-op mode for up to four players.

That goes for the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC versions, which will also offer two-player split-screen co-op. The Wii game will have its own "unique" two-player co-op mode.

According to the press release, the co-op campaign "allows players to rank up and unlock perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points".

3.1 - I totally agree
The two biggest mistakes/omittances from CoD4 was campaign co-op and online multi-player split screen. Those are the only two problems my friends and I have with IW's FPS masterpiece...

So yeah Co-op should be a HUGE announcement IMHO

And who cares if it's Treyarch and "back to WW2"? IF this game's amazing there's gonna be a lot of crow to eat. I won't prejudge based on Spidey3 and CoD3. Treyarch knows they need to step it up and the preview I saw certainly makes me think that they did.

great, i fooking adore co-op

if it wasn't for co-op Resistance would be a bit of an average game, but co-op made it bumper fun

the new influx of co-op games is the best thing that has ever happened in gaming i think

take Army of Two- at heart it's average game with unpolished gameplay mechanics, sub-par visuals and poor presentation

but grab a mate, a few beers and scream tactical advice at each other- and it's all excellent fun

12 - It better have co-op if...
they plan on making this the best game ever, as they said in another article on n4g.
They better also have cross platform game play if they want to make this the best game ever.

The Agency has it.

Cross platform is possible between everyone, its just that you'd have to get them to work together.

13.1 - funny...
Just don't buy it and stop complaining (that goes for everybody else complaining about the game). I love how people see 30 seconds of a game and automatically dismisses any notion of buying it, bashing the developers and claiming actual events that took place are now "boring"...

I guess both my grandfathers and my three uncles who fought (and one dying) in WWI & WWII just so people like you could badly misspell words and whine about how the WWI & WWII era is too boring to be a game.. I'll be sure to tell them that when I visit their graves this weekend...
