New Halo 3 Info and Images

The "legendary edition" is sort of a "special-special-edition" that consists of a Full-size replica of the Master Chiefs helmet that contains 4 DVDs with material.

1= The Game
2=Various documentaries and audio commentary
3=Spinoffs such as "Red vs Blue" and "Spark of Life"
4= ALL the cutscenes from all three games in Hi-def

New Weapons:
Spiker: the weapon of choice for brutes.
Spartan Laser: An anti-veichle weapon, fires a red laser that pretty much destroys any veichle that is hit.

New Vehicle:
Moongoose: The ATV that was supposed to be in Halo 2. It carries 2 people and it doesn't have any weapons so it's mainly a means of getting from point A to point B as fast as possible.

There are 3 levels which are revealed,
Valhalla = blood gulch, High Ground = Zanzibar, Snowbound = Frost bite.

There is a new controller setup where you click the right bumper to reload the right weapon and the left bumper for the left weapon.
The X-button will have a special use which Bungie will not reveal.

Don't you know the X button hidden feature:
It flips the enemy on their backside and you can hit their weakpoint for massive damage. Check out the desert level on the last scan, it looks beautiful.

4 - It looks almost graphically identical to Halo 2

which shows how good a job Bungie did with that iteration. It looks good, but I was definitely expecting a bigger, more noticeable leap in graphical fidelity. The normal mapping definitely gives some added depth over Halo 2's bump mapping though.

Your looking at a scan of a magazine, and probably not even ingame, of course Halo 3 will look graphically better than anything else to of ever been released yet to date. This is the Xbox 360's pride and joy. It will have every small detail blown up and with clarity unlike anything yet to be seen. When the magazine comes out, even then your looking at magazine pictures and not video so not a good comparison and of course you'll see images from Halo 1&2 but graphically speaking, it'll blow your ps3 to pieces.
Now go and play ratchet and clank on your ps2.

Anyway's to change subject to something worth speaking on and not a few losers, the Halo3 we saw inengine video a few months ago is what were goi ng to see ingame, so all can relax. Dude, all we've seen is the video of Master Chief walking with the original Battle Rifle. No explosions or gunfire of any sort. Until I see new footage I don't want to say too much about the gameplay aspects (which will probably kick even more ass than part 2). I hope the campaign mode is a lot better though. Luckily the multiplayer is guarenteed to rock.

I actually take that as a compliment since the Ratchet and Clank series is technologically superior to nearly everything on the Xbox 1. It was a great game (part 2 and 3 were the best). As for graphically blowing away the PS3, the alpha build of Halo 3 doesn't look THAT spectacular. Gears looks better, but Gears is also built around closed environments and very few characters on screen. 4 on 4 team deathmatch seems a bit weak, and I know i'm not alone on that comment. I'm hoping that Bungie can match what Insomniac's been doing and have 40 players at once. Or at least 32, considering how long Microsoft has been working on upgrading and enhancing Xbox Live.

Let it go. I know I know I know you're unhappy with everthing MS/Xbox. It's all MS's fault MS's making the games not the dev's. Thats sad that every time i see you in the 360 section i know you'll be picking apart sheit that most 99.9 percent of people don't bother with because they have better things to do. So you're suggesting that the multiplayer modes of games like Halo 2, Killzone, Battlefield, and countless other titles DON'T facilitate intelligent thinking because they offer more than 8 people dueling at the same time? When you have 40 online players....all you get is charging...dying...respawning and charging again...I used to play Battlefield on the PC and thats all it was...everybody would meet at some bridge and fight it out with just waves of endless soldiers...Usually turns out to be a long boring battle. Just a huge fragfest.

4vs4 8vs8 is the best for tactical fps....look at counterstrike...can u imagine that game playing with 40 people? It would lose all its tactics.

The main reason it looks similar to Halo 2 is that the scans aren't the greatest quality. The magazine would look better first hand obviously. I'm really looking forward to being able to play on live for the first time ever!

eh. one thing's for sure, this DEFINATELY doesn't look any better than GOW graphically, which can be just as good for GOW as it is bad for Halo 3. but then again, these are vague scans from a magazine, and this IS Halo we're talking about; its the gameplay that matters most. it'll be cool if they can implement the dual-wielding of weapons the way Resistance is. nevertheless i WILL be getting Halo 3, rest assured.

I see to diss this game you have to be picky as hell. Also yes this is a picture off a magazine and its going to look hell alot better on your HD TV. Also I myself can see that the jump in graphics from Halo 2 online even in that picture let alone seeing it on my TV.
This is a must have for me no doubt Im just rubbing my hands together getting ready for this game. They also are adding more game types and maps yet to see. Actually we didnt even get to realy see the maps there yet. This is just a piece of the cake for Halo fans, giving us an eye in on whats to come. Game like these make me proud to own an Xbox 360.

...they remind me a lot of Halo 1 which was much more outdoor than indoor. It's probably because of the tall pine trees. Honestly I don't care too much about the graphics either. They will be good enough to have an enjoyable experience and that's what gaming is all about.

I dont know what your talking about man. I swear Im not saying this to make anybody look good you can enlarge the pictures you know just read. Also I dont know what your seeing but even from these little pictures I can see improvements on the graphics from Halo 2.
Im sure as hard as they are working under the eyes on them this game is going to be great unless you are one of those that hate anything for a spec mark. But any way put in your contacts and take a look and clearly see the differences.

I've not seen any game, in-game, Hi-Def footage that looks better than GOW, not even the Halo 3 announcement trailer. (At least in terms of detail.)

But waht many people on this site doesn't seem to know, is that this is a PRE-ALPHA build, and most of the textures are PLACE-HOLDERS of Halo 2 textures: hence why it looks like Halo 2.

It still looks damn-impressive though. The difference in polygon build is blatant.

And I don't think Bungie intend to get this game out for March just to compete with the european launch of the PS3. That's dumb. Either they've always planned to get it out at March, or they simply aren't planning to get it out at March. It'll either be July (7/7/07) or near the end of the year, like Halo 1& 2.

If you are questioning the in-game graphics or anything like that, go over to Bungie.net and read there article about this. They invited a bunch of magzines to come play a Pre-Alpha build. They said that they were using placeholder textures and default lighting.

I hope they will have extreme kinds of weather and allow you change the setting on how bad the weather gets. So you can set it on extreme for players wanting to use it as a way to find hiding spots for the guy with the flag and for those who want a challenge while trying to snipe in the weather. That would be awesome to have different game types useing the weather to allow the players of the games to actually become more innovative and not only the developers. That would be a cool keypoint to aim for since making your own styles of game types was a popular thing in Halo 2.

27.2 - Well, me and some of my friends just dodge people that do that little trick.

But yeah, it was pretty annoying. In fact, we took out the sword for most of our LAN games 'cause it was just way too cheap. Either everyone had it or no one had it. I mean, I remember slicing someone through the ceiling (they were on a bridge above) and I couldn't believe it. Awesome kill, but he didn't stop cussing for a whole minute.

My favorite games are the phantom sniper and phantom shotgun rounds. What're your guys favorite match types?

It has become apparent that the promised gaming magazines are now hitting the stands (or are at least being mailed to subscribers in some areas). They do contain much awaited and long-promised Halo 3 content.

A word of advice and another word of warning.

These magazines are copyrighted material and are available to their subscribers and people who purchase the magazine. Scanning images, posting those images, scanning or posting transcriptions of the articles is a violation of the magazine's copyright and ownership of the material.

Anyone posting scans or text from these magazines will be permanently blacklisted from this site. No other warnings, no appeals, nothing.

Members asking (or begging, or encouraging) scans to be posted, IM'ed or PM'ed will likewise be blacklisted for at least a week. If we are advised to increase that penalty, we gladly will.
