Using teammate names makes it harder for hackers to be reported.

This is why I don't play multiplayer on PC. People always resort to cheating.

raWfodog3665d ago

Not just on PC either. It ruins the MP experience for me and probably one of the main reasons why I will always prefer SP over MP. A few bad apples ruin the whole batch :(

standbyf0r3665d ago

The hacking on console is minimal and is often dealt with swiftly. That is why I enjoy Titanfall on console.

I haven't seen any hacking yet!

IaMs123665d ago

I play on PC since launch and haven't seen any hacking yet either. I know its there and it happens though.

Are_The_MaDNess3665d ago

well its weird that i have No Hackers at all in Dota 2 then.....

overrated443665d ago

But obviously cheating only happens on PC though...

overrated443664d ago

Console task force cleaning up the comments saying that PC and consoles have a similar amount of hackers, aye?

Are_The_MaDNess3664d ago

yeah pretty much. and things like map hacks and things like that cant be hacked no matter what since the servers are only giving the player client the info it needs when he needs it. the client dont know anything about where the enemy heroes are on the map and so on.

unless someone hacks the actual valve servers i cant see them getting anything more than what we others know in the game.

Neixus3665d ago

There are lots of hacking on console aswell, stop being a cry baby :)

UnwanteDreamz3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

You really gonna pretend console mp hacking and pc are on the same level. You are full of it. People can pay websites to get cheater packages. Man it only takes a little research to see that pc cheating is in it's own category. I've seen guys jump into matches and instakill everybody. Never seen that on my console.

SilentNegotiator3665d ago

But not even remotely as much as on PC, and you know it.

Are_The_MaDNess3665d ago

@SilentNegotiator well true. but most PC games that take themself serious actually tries to stop it.

how about they start using admins on the servers to look out for this shit.
CS and BF still have admins on most of the servers still to this day.

elninels3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

I know two boys, 8 and 9, that "cracked"( as they put it) their 360 and shoot people in COD from across the map through everything

Milruka3665d ago

I find it funny how young some of you kids are. Ever since Ps2/Xbox consoles have had hackers in it's shooters. The difference is it's not some idiot who can just buy a map hack. back in the day you had to buy a chip, solder it to your board. then you had to do a loader. then find codes, and modify them to play.

Me and my brother would run hacks in Halo 2 for fun. You could get on XBL no problem. we ended up however moving over to XBC so we could play with people with our mods.

Yea they couldn't see what the mod did, but you could super jump in the air pull the trigger on a sniper rifle and kill every on the map instantly.

You can still very easily do the same for current consoles.

ramiuk13665d ago

exactly, screw mouse and keyboard is better and u can do this and that,u can mod etc etc.

i would rather have a closed system like consoles.

i know consoles get hacked etc but its only mainly an issue with custom lobbys which can be avoided easily.

MetaReapre3665d ago

I keep hearing how pc has sooo many of these cheaters yet here I play Lol Dota Smite, dark souls, loadout, and many other games and have never come across a cheater once. Seriously, you don't come across cheaters as often as people keep saying. I mean there are some glitches that are exploited and stuff in dark souls but it's practically just pve stuff (if there are ones exploited for pvp I don't know about it or care to know).

UnwanteDreamz3665d ago

You may not see them. I wonder why they have a whole websites dedicated to selling cheats?

SilentNegotiator3665d ago

You've played Dark Souls on PC and have not crossed any cheaters? I don't believe you.

MetaReapre3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

@Silentnegotiator
Admittedly I didn't play it much as I also have it for console prior to it releasing for pc but yea I have not come across anyone that was so over powered that they must have been cheating.

@Unwantedreamz
It may be possible that people have cheated and I had not noticed but yea like I said prior, I have not noticed in any of the games I play, someone to be so overpowered that I would have noticed.

AD7053665d ago

I play those games on PC as well and rarely do I even come across any hackers in those games. In fact the only people who seem to bitch about hackers on the PC (which is rare) are console fanboys lying about it to bring the PC down since that's all the seem to do is flat out lie and make shit up.

Besides PSN had to go down for almost 3 months due to hacking. No one brings that up.

Dark_Vendetta3665d ago

I'm about 50 hours in the game and didn't encounter one cheater. I think people like to bloat things up. Of course it happens but it's not as bad as some people here think

Vegamyster3665d ago

It's not really an issue if the game has dedicated servers with admin support.

RamboRabbi3665d ago

I'd rather have a community of hackers than children. MP on console is instantly ruined by children arguing and screaming, i'd rather have the occasional hacker than kids yelling that they have shagged my mother. Also the skill gap on PC is bigger and more competitive.

BISHOP-BRASIL3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

Yeah, because there's no kids playing on PCs, right?

Let's be realistic people, as far as user base is concerned, PCs and Consoles nowadays are no better than going out on the streets: idiots are everywhere.

Games simply became too popular. To the point it will eventually bring on the eventual undesirable... You can either sack up and deal with it or be a crybaby about it. Either way, there's no getting rid of them.

EDIT: Evetually eventual... Yeah, I'm an idiot.

3-4-53665d ago

If the industry would get going on the Bot AI, we wouldn't have to worry about cheaters.

mister_zolos3664d ago

hmmm now why every time i try to play cod mw3 on my ps3 is full of hackers....Casper the friendly ghost a cheater will always be a cheater the platform he/she is in will not stop him/her from cheating

BX813665d ago

Wow that sux.

On a side question. How in the hell do you get 36 ping?

Wikkid6663665d ago

I usually get somewhere around 28ms

BX813665d ago

On PC? I play on xb1 and I get 66. When I test my connection through settings, I never get below 106 latency. My net runs at an average of 22.38 Mbps upload and 4.68 download. Is there a way for me to lower my latency? Thanks

Wikkid6663665d ago

Depends how close you are to Azure data centers.

GarrusVakarian3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

I get around 32 on the west Europe server.

HacSawJimThugin3665d ago

On a good day I get like 16 but on average 22...that's east coast US(Virginia) but moving to Maryland soon hopefully it says the same or better.

lsujester3665d ago

Even then it can be odd. I have a data center in my city and my connection to it is around 50.... the same as I get for going to the east coast.

I guess my internet leaves town and then comes back... I don't know.

BX813665d ago

Yeah I live in florida and I connect to the east coast server and its a 66.

Are_The_MaDNess3665d ago

haters gonna hate i guess..... but we still have better graphics, controls and games with a much higher skill-tier than anywhere else.

GarrusVakarian3665d ago

Shame you don't have any exclusives that anyone cares about :p

MysticStrummer3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

You have better graphics. Better controls is subjective, and the higher skill thing is just funny. You'd be better off leaving your argument at "Better graphics, size of game library, and mods".

HacSawJimThugin3665d ago

Question to the so called master race. Why is it that PC exclusives are no where near the level of what consoles offer? I mean Gears, Halo, The Last of Us, and any other console exclusive title wipes the floor with PC titles. You may have better looking ports but no original titles can hold a candle to console exclusives. If not for consoles, what would PC gaming look like? Much WoW, Such lame.

OT- cheating like this is gay and pointless. The last time I experienced cheating like this was in the first Gears game...the roadie run glitch. I'm glad my "lesser platform" doesn't see this type of behavior that often.

Vegamyster3665d ago (Edited 3665d ago )

@HacSawJimThugin

Command & Conquer
Starcraft 2
Torchlight 2
Company of Heroes
Total War
League of Legends
Dota 2
Team Fortress 2
ARMA
Civilization
Counterstrike
MMO's
Chivalry Medieval Warfare
Renegade X
Star Citizen

Along with others, all gameplay focused games

@MysticStrummer

How are controls subjective when you can use pretty much anything you want on the PC?

Tempest3173665d ago

@HacSawJimThugin @Vegamyster

Not getting in the middle of the "pc master race" argument, only responding to the question of pc exclusives.

Just to add onto the the list Vega already posted

Neverwinter Nights
The Witcher (original)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Sins of a Solar Empire
Warhammer 40k

Do we have as many exclusives as consoles? Of course not, but to pretend that PC exclusives are inferior to consoles is just as ridiculous as the guys yelling PC MASTER RACE. Every platform has its pros and cons, I personally game on nearly every platform. PC is my favored for fps/mmo/anything requiring precision or skill, and consoles are my preferred for rpg/tps action(batman)/racing

elninels3665d ago

Pc elitists are like Al Gore.

Yeah, yeah, I know they're correct, but they're annoying, condescending, and generally have weak face to face socializing skills.

Vegamyster3665d ago

@elninels

That's any fanboy in general, thing is this is a PC article with people who clearly don't game on the PC (which is fine) acting like they do know about it. Just find it a little ironic that the most popular stories generally here on N4G are about console graphics and not the games/gameplay.

intellegent3665d ago

Where are the single player, story based PC exclusives at? Nowhere. Look at the list Vegamyster made, it's pathetic. That's why most console gamers that convert to PC are usually Xbox owners.

Are_The_MaDNess3665d ago

@Chillstep
oh you mean those games that hold your hand for hours as you walk though a little small corridor and starts feeding you small little story ques all the time?

intellegent3665d ago

Yes, the games that win GOTY every year.

+ Show (8) more repliesLast reply 3665d ago
TheDevKit3665d ago

Yeah, except for World of Warcraft; you know, the most popular game of all time.

Flutterby3664d ago

Actually league of legends has the most users of any game so there for wow is not the most popular, but I also think you failed to see the point they where making.

Godmars2903665d ago

This is hardly a surprise response to what Respawn did - or is planning to do?

We are talking about cheaters afterall. Douchebags.

ClevelandSteamer3665d ago

Titanfall is unplayable on Xbone due to Hackers and poor FPS, At least the PC version has better anti cheat software and plays much better.

marlinfan103665d ago

unplayable due to hackers and poor fps? lol what?!?

ill take it you haven't played it before. I've never ran into a hacker, and the fps doesn't make it anywhere near unplayable.

ClevelandSteamer3665d ago

I played it for 2 hours on Xbone Live, It was a joke Vs PC. 3 or 4 hackers per match, it was unplayable. As soon as the titans started to drop the FPS dropped into the 20fps and massive amounts of screen tearing. It was a horrible experience. If that is the kind of gaming you enjoy, everything you say is invalid.

Flutterby3664d ago

@cleveland

If you where used to the mediocre experiences that the xbone provides its users you too would be happy with titanfall on the xbone, I played it on pc and didn't like it much but I also tried it on xbone and it is definitely no where near as solid as the pc version.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad588d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Respawn Entertainment is Discontinuing Sales of Original Titanfall

Sales for the original Titanfall are being discontinued.
It will be pulled from subscription services on March 1, 2022.

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad868d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal866d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
