Contrary to Reports, The New Rollercoaster Tycoon doesn’t “Look like Sh*t”

With rumors of poor graphics swirling around the internet thanks to a certain article on Kotaku.com, the record should be set straight – Rollercoaster Tycoon does not, this is a quote “Look like sh*t.”

Kotaku and similar sites are all about the hype with little integrity, what type of professional editorial publish an article like that aside from Onion ? The trailer did look pretty much identical to RCT3.But I never really played the game for its graphics anyway.From what i've read it seem like its going to be very robust in the gameplay department at least. Just because the graphics aren't cutting edge doesn't make it crap.

Yeah, this game was at PAX Prime and it looked way better than it's been made out to look by one screenshot of a passing 1.5 minute video.

Unfortunately MD, the trailer doesn't tell the tale of the scope of this game. If they filled up a park and showed off the mechanics on how to build a coaster, along with what that looks like, you'd be saying something else entirely. The press junkies who didn't use or see this game live and in-person are giving it a bad rep without experiencing it for themselves.

That's all good and fine but this is what they've presented to us, they chose to release this trailer to the public. It looks nothing like the screenshots in the article you've linked to.

I'm aware these are pulled off of a youtube video but this isn't acceptable for such a popular IP in 2015, on PC no less.

Eh, I can live with that crowd not being satisfied with a product.Jus sayin'.Yea I admit in that trailer the graphics looks a bit predated but I could really give 2 s#its.The game looks fun and I've been looking forward to a new rct for the longest. I would like it to have pretty graphics too but it isn't the end of the world.

The original developer presented the game on the left, 4-5 months later the new developer presents the game on the right.

If the game is as fun as it was I was younger then outdated graphics arent the end of the world but it would be nice to have something on par with the latest Simcity or Cities Skylines game

As long as the game is fun and is actually finished at launch, how it looks zoomed in on your park visitors doesn't really matter does it? I mean once your park is packed and your off building are there a lot of people who just zoom in on the people? Is that a thing?

I've only ever played the first one on PC and it was amazing back in the day but if they don't make the new one on consoles I'm going to have to pass. I own 2 and 3 also but they don't look as fun as the first and it runs like trash on my computer for some reason yet I can run Sleeping Dogs @1080p and 60fps with high settings.

That's probably because they aren't designed to work with your multi-core architecture today. All modern games are made with multi-core compatibility, so you should be good.

It's also worth noting Atari sacked the original developers (Pipeworks) months ago and replaced them with a new studio that has never made a game before (Area 52).

It's small but the left side was a screenshot from last year (provided by Pipeworks) and the right side is from the latest trailer (by Area 52), it honestly looks like a different game.
