They hype for Kingdom Hearts continues

God, I loved DDD. Super fun, intriguing story and masterfully executed soundtrack. The only drawback was the 3DS with its one circle knob making the camera difficult to deal with at times.

Sooooooo glad for a ps4 release; its been far too long since I've been able to play KH.

icaruslives3123d ago

Agreed! I'm excited to play it on the PS4! Wondering how they'll tackle the touch stuff.

luckytrouble3123d ago

If you mean the interaction with your Dream Eater pets or whatever, I hope they choose to axe it. Realistically though, they can just do most touch related stuff using the touchpad. It's surprisingly responsive and useful.

OK I have no idea whats going on in Kingdom Hearts. Do I pick this up before playing 3, how does Dream Drop Distance relate to the series?

luckytrouble3123d ago

Dream Drop Distance is the Mark of Mastery exam after Kingdom Hearts 2 but before Kingdom Hearts 3. It's the test where Sora and Riku attempt to become Keyblade Masters. It's one of few side games that actually introduces a fair bit of new content rather than just rehashing basically entirely old locales.

DarkOcelet3123d ago

Dream Drop Distance is the final game chronologically in the series.

Get KH 1.5 and KH 2.5 then get 2.8 and you will be set. You really should not miss out on any game because every single one of those game are important to the story. Yes, your mind will get flayed because of all the complexity but its worth it :)

Snookies123123d ago

Bottom line, yes you need 2.8 before Kingdom Hearts 3. It's a worthwhile investment just for Dream Drop Distance alone.

DarkOcelet3123d ago

I am gonna be honest here when i say i wasnt planning to get this until 0.2 prologue popped out of nowhere. Aqua is my second favorite character in the series after Roxas and seeing her in Unreal Engine 4 will be epic.

I really hope her chapter if 10 hours long.

icaruslives3123d ago

Dream Drop is quite far into the series, so you'll want to get 'Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMiX' and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMiX' as well.

Play them in this order. KH1, Chain of Memories, KH2, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, KH Dream Drop.

You can play Birth by Sleep first but I believe it would just be a confusing mess if you started with it.

slappy5083123d ago

Thanks for everyones input. I was planning on getting 2.5, which I saw at the store. Hopefully the have 1.5 and then I can finish these by the time I need to get 2.8

Ooh. A whole 20% off of the $250 you're pushing on PC gamers for the whole collection. Despite all that content being had for $30 or under on Playstation, and you already taking money from Epic for bringing it to their store first.

Straight up greed.

SDuck1115d ago

1. Epic's the one going for the exclusivity
2. No, that content isn't $30 on PSN, I've checked it
3. You don't have to get everything at the same time. Better, just wait until Epic offers it for free

Inverno1115d ago

The physical All-in-one collection regularly goes down to 30. This has absolutely no business being sold in individual packs at full price.

MadLad1115d ago

Epic offered, Square accepted. They made money on the deal.
No idea what point you're trying to make there.
I didn't say "PSN", I said "Playstation". Google "Kingdom Hearts complete" and tell me what you see.
Your last point is literally you defending them highly upcharging on content that can be had for cheap lol.

What a joke.

Inverno1115d ago

Should've been the All-in-one collection, then KH3 Final Mix and MoM sold as full price ports. Least that way it'd make more sense, with Final Mix announcement for consoles as well. Be honest though, coming from Square this isn't suprising in the slightest.

Rachel_Alucard1114d ago (Edited 1114d ago )

I got reminded Disney has investors with Epic so that's why you see Disney+ advertising, marvel crossovers, star wars, and KH itself is all because of that.

VersusDMC1114d ago

Weird backlash on price when we get justifications for skyward sword switch at 60. Only kingdom hearts 2.8 is too expensive to me.
