In 2012, Firaxis Games released XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a reboot of the classic sci-fi strategy series, and quickly followed it up with a massive expansion (and rerelease on consoles) called XCOM: Enemy Within. Although little evidence has been seen to suggest a new entry in the series, 2K’s interest in pursuing the title as a franchise can be found in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, a first-person shooter set in the same universe, which flopped. However, a series of job listings at Firaxis indicate that the failure of 2K Marin’s take on the franchise may not have dissuaded a continuation of the series.
With E3 starting next week, 2K Games revealed the biggest E3 line up they have for the year

Firaxis Games says that the redundancies come as it aligns talent against its "highest priorities"
Damnit , shtty for those people. I've liked most of what I've played from them. Especially xcom. Love that to death. I still havent picked it up but it's in the plans. I personally think people were turned off due to the card based system. Despite that I've read it was good but I can't help but think it wasn't the smartest move.
Midnight Suns missed the mark. I thought it would be great and it was a fail. So repetitive.
I heard the story was extremely bad on this. Bad and boring dialogue on cut scenes. I think I recall that from SkillUp's review
Firaxis Games is about to experience major changes at the management level. Jake Solomon is leaving, and the Studio Head is being replaced.
I hope it kinda stays the same. Maybe develop for consoles simultaneously with PC. Please also port the xcom chimera to consoles. I've seen people be down on it but I just want more xcom.
I hope it continues in the same vein as Enemy Unknown and Within. One of the most addictive games of last gen for me. That 3rd person spin-off had some decent ideas but it was a turd.
Fireaxis versions were spot on, would love to see more of them.
Being a colossal fan of the original on PS1 and PC, it was a dream come true when they released the excellent 2012 version.
