No Crash: Activision Jealous of Naughty Dog & Sony?

Hey Guys ClassicAli94 here to talk about Crash Bandicoot and Activision

The Crash Bandicoot IP has passed through many different developers over the years. Starting off as Naughty Dog’s IP and making a name for the developers. This was back in the late 90s, Naughty Dog had managed to develop a 3 spectacular games that consisted of Crash’s ongoing battles with Cortex in addition to these 3 games they had created a spinoff in Crash Team Racing which was a Kart game that bore a lot of resemblance to the Mario Kart games but it was just as fun as the Mario Kart games in my case i enjoyed it more than any of the Mario Kart games (is that even possible?).

All I'm saying is that Activision better sell Crash Bandicoot before the interest in the IP starts to taper back down. At this point they can sell Crash for a good chunk of change because let's face it, Activision WILL NEVER... EVER make money off this IP. The fans have already stated that they will not buy another Crash game unless it's with Sony only.

LightDiego3417d ago

Also Activision doesn't have any competence to make a good game for the series.
What they pretend by the way, turning Crash into a Skylander's character? Ridiculous...

Majin-vegeta3417d ago

Pika pika pika pika Pika Pika!!

Translation:Shhh don't give them any ideas

They either need to do something with it or give it back to SOny

breakpad3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

for some reason i think Sony have bought it back ...remember Ryu in the PS4 launch trailer??->SFV exclusive... now the Crash B. sign is not there for no reason ...probably is E3 announcement ..if it is not the story ends there ,Sony and ND dont have it and Activision will never sell it

joab7773417d ago

Why the hell wouldn't they partner with Naughty Dog? They couldn't possibly lose? They ed be riding the hottest developer in the business to critical success.

At the very least, like Bungie, they would sell a ton of copies at launch.

There must be another reason b/c it's a guaranteed money maker.

KnownAsEpic3417d ago

Because Naughty Dog is a first party developer owned by SONY unlike Bungie.

SpiralTear3417d ago

This is just a stupid game of keepaway. Activision knows that Sony will make bank if they get the license back and make a new Crash game. Just give it back to Sony, Activision. You have Call of Duty. You'll be fine.

Crash needs to come home to Sony and PlayStation

GokuSolosAll3417d ago

It's business. Activision doesn't have a use for Crash and Sony probably isn't willing to pay for Crash. Get over the dead mascot and his generic games, it's never gonna happen.

mixelon3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

What do people imagine a new Crash actually being like?

Genuinely curious. Do you think that it would sell with the current generation of gamers?

Would be cool to see him back.

slate913417d ago

IMO people are speaking more nostalgically than realistically. I dont believe it will do that well if it comes back. I had my fun with crash back in the day. But i dont think it aged well just like spyro. Just speaking my opinion

mixelon3417d ago

My thoughts exactly.

I think Spyro has a bit more potential for modern games because it's always had a relatively open world and a fantastical setting that can be easily elaborated on and modernised. (Like happened with Rayman)

Crash is so caught up in 90s cool, much like sonic.. Bringing him back would be flirting with disaster, but I'd love to see someone try anyway, it's probably doable.

DragoonsScaleLegends3417d ago

I think it would sell great if it's a good game. The original is really outdated but a new one could easily be made popular if it's got a good developer and funds.

mixelon3417d ago

*notices your avatar* A new Medievil would be better. :)

WeAreLegion3417d ago

I'm not sure. That's the biggest problem here. Do people want a $20 downloadable sequel or a massive game? Level based or open world? They can't mess with the formula too much without upsetting people.

1996 Voted as ‘Best Year in Gaming’ by UK Public

Have you ever wondered what the best year in gaming was? Well wonder no more! The British public have had their say, and voted for 1996.

Limitedtimestruggle588d ago

I have some many fond memories as a 10 year old gamer from back then! The best of times!

Dfooster588d ago

Yeah that is a good choice. Great times

Snakeeater25588d ago

Lol Nintendo 64 … talk about a shitty year for gaming

Old McGroin587d ago

The N64 was amazing at the time, how old are you, 12?

CobraKai587d ago

Mario 64, Mario Kart, WaveRace. They’re prolly too young to appreciate em. My kids love the N64.

Terry_B587d ago

No..1996 was not a good start for the N64. The system had a lousy start in comparison to the SNES, Playstation and probably even the Sega Saturn.

CobraKai587d ago

So…. Nevermind the first time Resident Evil or Tomb Raider was released, a damn near arcade perfect port of Tekken 2, Quake, Wipeout, Crash Bandicoot, Super Mario RPG, Nights, Panzer Dragoon Zwei? It’s shitty cuz the old N64 is it?

BrainSyphoned588d ago (Edited 588d ago )

More of a 97 person myself.
FF7, Symphony of the Night, Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Dynasty Warriors, Diablo, Fallout, Tomb Raider 2, Mega Man Legends, GoldenEye, Turok, Wing Commander Prophecy, Star Fox 64, Einhander, Tobal 2, Bushido Blade, Colony Wars, Ultima Online. Was a great year to start working at Funcoland.

You beat me to it. I loved both years, but 97 was one of my favorite years ever.

Marcello588d ago

2013 was a good year too. Dead Space 3, The Last of Us, GTA5, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Tomb Raider reboot, Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Grid 2 & more.

Limitedtimestruggle587d ago

Dead Space 3? That game only deserves to be on rock-bottom lists. In my honest opinion.

Marcello587d ago

Its is very Marmite that game but to me it was only that love story nonsense that was bad, really bad.
