Destiny Xur: Agent of Nine Location And Items For Week 14 (Dec 12), Selling Icebreaker, Truth & More

Here is the list of Xur: Agent of Nine exotic Items and Location For Week 14 (December 12)

ABizzel13420d ago

I'm so done with this game, I swear it's getting sold for this BS. You basically have to start the game over.

You have to buy an Exotic Shard (7 Strange Coins) + $7500 Glimmer to upgrade your weapon. Which basically means if you don't grind to death that entire weekend you won't have the money to upgrade more than 3 weapons. And if you do that's 21 Strange Coins, for the 3 Shards you need to upgrade + another 21 to max out those weapons. So 42 strange coins to re-max 3 weapons and around $22,500, on top of grinding through all those bounties to get XP to upgrade the weapons. This is how you complete F@#$ up a game, and piss off your consumer base.

Bungie have literally become this most ignorant developer when it comes to balancing games / progression / etc...

Dude... exclusion zone heroic modifier, resupply codes. Die repeat....you're welcome.

It's funny to me that the latest Destiny update/changes seem to upset you so much you want to get rid of the game, yet those same changes stopped me from trading in the game literally the next day, because I was decided I was done with this game which made me feel like an hour or two of playing got me nowhere.

Now I think I'm getting better stuff more often, and that stuff is now much more affordable to upgrade. ANd Ii also really like the Exotic trade in program. For just 7 strange coin/1 exotic shard you get a new, more powerfull version of the same weapon. It's not like your previous work for the old version is disregarded.......assuming you fully upgraded the thing.....because the base damge on the new version is higher than even the fully upgraded old one. And for cheap players like me who never upgraded the final tree of their exotics because it was just too expensive (I haven't spent a single ascendant material since this game launched because of how rare they are to get), the upgrade program gives us an additional bonus since our new Ice Breakers for example are going to get a huge damage boost since without the final tree Exotic/Legendary damage stopped at 279. Upgrading is an automatic bump to 303.

And I don't mind having to relevel the couple of exotics I had, it gives me something to keep me playing since there's actually noticable progress to make. Another nice thing is, that any exotics you get from now on are all the upgraded versions. Just this morning I did my daily public event and got yet another mote of light and I thought great another mote of light I can't really buy anything usefull with. Then I went to cash in my bounties and whatnot and saw Xur, check out what he had for the week and saw the Exotic Helmet engrams. Used my motes right then, bought 2 and got a helm for each of my classes (Warlock and Hunter), both of which have the new, higher stats. So between all the actual new equipment, and old equipment that can be re-leveled, for at least a month or so, you're not gonna run out of progress to make. Wwhich is something the game sorely needed.

ANd hey, did you just complain about actually having something to spend Glimmer on now? LOL. I'm HAPPY to finally have something to do with Glimmer. I'm always maxxed out and I've never even used any of those bonus glimmer items of which I have a matric ton of stocked in my inventory. Now I finally have a reason to use those things too.

ABizzel13420d ago

@LarryL

Only people who don't have a lot of stuff such as yourself are the ones who benefit from this.

I have 18 exotic weapons not counting doubles, and almost full exotic armor sets on all 3 classes with all the class armors fully upgraded, and most of the weapons with only 3 circles left to upgrade and my main weapons maxed out. And tons of legendary stuff and reached level 30 with 2 of my 3 character.

It took 100's of hours to get all those strange coins, shards, energy, glimmer, bounties, raids, etc... to achieve that, and for all the gamers who have worked that hard to get that stuff, Bungie just said FU, start over so that lower level players can catch up. It's a completely foul thing to do, to people who have spent all that time grinding and upgrading for the best gear.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad as if the exotics you upgraded stayed at the same level, so say you maxed out an Icebreaker then when you upgrade it's automatically maxed out. Or you have a Suros half way maxed, and when you upgrade it's still half way maxed. As much as it would suck to still have to spend 7 strange coins on simply upgrading then another 7 to max it later it would be much more understandable then starting over completely.

If they wanted you to start over it should have been 1 strange coin, not cost 7 for a material. It shouldn't cost around 7500 glimmer, which forces you back into a grindfest for money, which was something they realized was annoying when they allowed you to buy materials. It's just 1 great innovation forward 2 stupid design decision back with everything they do with this game.

This whole update makes it easier for gamers who didn't have time to grind away at Destiny, which is great for them. But at the same time punishes players who spent hundreds of hours with the game, and that's foul.

Instead of being lazy @holes and making you upgrade content, they should be bringing out more content. Where's a new planets to explore, new enemies to encounter, waves of new weapons and armors. Destiny is a game with good mechanics, great fun with friends, and fun raids, with awful game design and decisions.

bananaboats3420d ago

good thing i have a shit ton of shards. its good when you play constantly and earn the exotics instead of having to buy them. now i can spend my 100+ coins on shards!!!! YAY ME.

UKmilitia3420d ago

can u buy acc shards now?

Larry L3420d ago

He's talking about Exotic shards. Since he has many exotics, he can break down duplicates and pieces he just doesn't want for exotic shards without having to spend his vast fortune of strange coins (which I'm extremely jealous of, I've got like 10) just to buy the exotic shards. And he's got plenty to buy the few he may need.

But here's a tip, since you don't know. You pretty much have always been able to buy ascendant shards and energy. You spend Vanguard or crucible marks to buy Legendary weapons or armor from the vendors, which you can then break down for ascendant shards or energy. This is not scientifically proven, but I suggest leveling (not upgrading, just leveling) the stuff first if you can afford the time or have some bounties to cash in, since I have had pretty good luck getting multiple ascendant materials from breaking down legendaries when they're leveled first. However it could just be completely random.

GameSpawn3420d ago

@Larry

He is also EARNING Exotics. This is the important bit. Instead of burning Strange Coins on buying Exotics he earned them through the Raids and Engram rewards (Legendary and Exotic Engrams can be earned from high level strikes and raids). This means he has LOTS of Strange Coins left over that can be used for Exotic Shards (which are CHEAP considering what they do).

If you are re-leveling very often and building up Motes of Light quickly you can buy the Exotic engram from Xur and (if you have a small number of Exotics and already have each Class at level 20) have a good chance of getting good Exotic gear/weapons that you don't already have.

objdadon3420d ago

Lmao! You have no argument dude! I was worried before this too but even though you re upgrade your weapons, they already start off with stronger attack level than you had them maxed out! This was a very good way of doing it! Now I'll have an even stronger last word and ice breaker!!!!!

objdadon3420d ago

Lol at the disagrees, it's the truth!

JeffGUNZ3420d ago

This. The gun is STRONGER right out of the gate. All you have to do is re-level for perks. People just love to cry.

dumahim3420d ago

Yeah, I don't get it. I worked hard leveling up most of the Exotics. Sure a lot of them weren't that good, I knew a buff was coming. But this is how they fix it? Tossing away our progress to start over? Forget that. There's other ways of fixing them without throwing away the progress we made already. They don't respect us or our time.

objdadon3420d ago

Dude your gun starts off stronger than it was before, you just have to unlock the perks again. Would you rather your weapons cease to exist?

CorndogBurglar3420d ago

They could have done what most other games do and just released all new weapons and gear that are stronger, essentially saying, "to hell with the old stuff.

At least this way they are keeping the old gear relevant.

I don't have a problem with this at all. This game is too fun to let something like this get to me.

But people that don't like it can always just stop playing!

ABizzel13420d ago (Edited 3420d ago )

@objadadon

That's the problem you and many others don't get. We spent hundreds of hours grinding to max all this content, and now all that is wiped and we have to start over. Meanwhile someone who made it to level 20, and stopped playing can simply come and buy the weapons from Xur and have the same upgrade we have, the only difference is it cost them 20 - 30 strange coins depending on the weapon, while it cost up 14 strange coins and 7500 glimmer. It's foul as f@$#.

Say you maxed Suros, then you upgraded it and it was automatically maxed from your previous version, then no one would have a problem with that, but no our hundred of hours were basically deleted and told to start over.

Saying weapons start off stronger is BS as well, because all the new content is a a higher level as well, nullifying the upgrades to being with. This is a freaking reset, not an upgrade.

Stapleface3420d ago

LOL Your just whining man. This update is exactly what they said it would be. If your surprised then you haven't been paying attention to the info Bungie has been giving on the game. None of the stuff your whining about is difficult at all to acquire. Your literally complaining about resetting your guns, when they don't necessarily reset, they upgrade. Becoming more powerful than what they were before but somehow that is a bad thing. Because you don't have the materials. Seriously? It's not like leveling up those guns before was useless. I know having my weapons at 300 have helped a lot when playing higher level missions. It's even better that I can take them further now. All I know is thank goodness nothing in this game costs me $22,500.

CorndogBurglar3420d ago (Edited 3420d ago )

Bye.

I'll be upgrading my Armamentarium.

Oschino19073420d ago (Edited 3420d ago )

Quote from CorndogBurglar yesterday:

"Because two games were released recently by them that were full of bugs.

Does this not make you wonder a little?

I don't care that they made some great games in the past. The past doesn't matter much when what they're putting out now is buggy.

How many buggy game releases will it take before you start to question it?

I'm not saying that everything they put out from now on will be garbage. But I think i'm justified in my reasoning to be cautious at this point."

Hypocrisy at it's finest. You complain about games you don't own or play but have a problem with another person having a valid complaint regarding a game they own and play.

danthegamerfiend3420d ago

If your done with this game then why preach about it. I'm so sick of hearing you guys complaining about this game every article very time. You guys will never be happy in life so get over it. Go play something else. Millions of people play this game daily 1 less person like yourself is totally fine. People don't want to hear your whinny complaints.

JeffGUNZ3420d ago

@Sinistergensis

Why can't you just let the people who like, like it? I mean, Danthegamerfiend is right. It's not like Destiny fans are going into other game threads and putting down those games to boast Destiny. Yet, people keep flocking, the same people mind you, to these articles to tell us over and over they hate it. It's a Destiny article, should fans not discuss their joy or are we only allowed to like certain things now?

ABizzel13420d ago

@danthergamerfiend

I have no need to reply to you because Sinister's comment served you well enough.

@JeffGUNZ

This is a Destiny comment section, and I have a legitimate reason to be upset, because I played Destiny since week 1, and most of the people okay with this are those who haven't played nearly as much as the ones who are angry. I have 18 exotics / 27 counting duplicates. This means all those hours grinding means I have to start all that BS over again, because Bungie was to lazy to figure out a way to allow our upgrades to simply carry over, and because they didn't want to let people level up fast, and it's foul to do that to the people who've worked that hard to get that gear.

BattleTorn3420d ago (Edited 3420d ago )

Your complaint is ..... and make sure I get this right....

that you can't complete everything in one weekend?

ABizzel13420d ago

My complaint is that we have to start all this BS over, because Bungie didn't want people to be able to carry their progress over, and were too lazy to make worthwhile content, so instead they reset everything.

Is that clear enough for you.

ltachiUchiha3420d ago

They waited for me to stop playing to finally bring this damn sniper back smh.

Lucifun3420d ago

I can't even get this damn sniper because I can't do the weekly heroic because I do not have the DLC.

MelvinTheGreat3420d ago

Dont worrying, despite what the title says, hes not actually selling it. Hes only selling truth this weekend, ice breaker is just avaliable to upgrade

Npugz73420d ago

Wow I officially hate bungie!!!

JeffGUNZ3420d ago

Why? The weapons START at a HIGHER level then they were when you maxed them. They will be better immediately. All you have to do is level them back up ofr perks and while doing that will continue to get stronger. They also lowered the time it takes to evolve exotics, so it will be quicker.

Think about it, they could have done nothing and made all the exotics we have level to 300 useless after this DLC. They didn't, this is a SMART move.

ABizzel13420d ago

The enemies are a higher level nullifying the "HIGHER" level. So if you're doing the DLC, no they're not better immediately, they're the same there were in the previous raids.

The time it takes to max exotics is fast, but still horribly slow. Turned in 10 bounties all 5000XP + telemetries and it only filled the first 4 circles. This is a hard reset, not a upgrade, and Bungie is foul for it.

Npugz73419d ago (Edited 3419d ago )

No they absolutely do not!I don't know where you got that from. With both weapons maxed out than the upgraded one does.

IcicleTrepan3420d ago

he's not selling icebreaker, he's selling the upgrade for it, so if you don't have it already you cannot get it.

Swiggins3420d ago

Gonna be upgrading Ice Breaker and Suros this week, nothing else really catches my eye. I already got an improved version of Mask of the Third Man from the Nightfall this week.

Gonna need to do some serious Glimmer farming first though...I've only got like 1000 glim left....

JeffGUNZ3420d ago

Dude, do the new strike with heroic modifier on. The first area up the stairs in the room where all the enemies are is a farming heaven! Die and repeat!

Swiggins3420d ago

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that out.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter330d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell329d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig330d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast330d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g330d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka330d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.
