Uncharted 4 - the best screenshots collected

Naughty Dog showed off new gameplay of their upcoming PS4 exclusive 'Uncharted 4; A thief's end' at the PlayStation Experience last week. The video shown looked jaw-dropping and makes Uncharted 3 look like an good but old Volkswagen.

It seems Naughty Dog has learned a lot from their last title - The Last of Us and their work has really paid off

That screens from the E3 teaser. The recent gameplay, while incredibly good looking doesn't match that quality.

Looks the same. The only difference is that he's wet and it's dark in the E3 one

SCW19823421d ago

So what you are saying is that time of day makes a game look better. GTFO!

LightofDarkness3421d ago

He's right, the self shadowing is more detailed and there's much higher resolution specular mapping ng, even the mesh is more tessellated on the E3 trailer. But this was to be expected once they had to flesh out the environments more. Its not like this is the first time ND have done this either, no point getting in a huff about it.

@SCW1982

No, time of day does not make a game look better. You also have to take into consideration that his wet and the moonlight reflects off of his skin. His also bruised around his cheeks and his probably got sand on his face. The PSX Drake is clean, dry and isn't full of bruises.

@ Fishy Fingers..

it's a good point, but I think there is something here people are not understanding, it's the same graphics, the same engine.

But in Gameplay you pull back from the character and when ever you do that you lose some detail, that is every game, every game works this way, some detail is lost because you are further away from the scene, and the system has to scale. (make that full 3-D image fit with-in the screen)

But maybe it's better explained here --> https://www.youtube.com/wat...

So detail is not lost it's just you are further away, if you could zoom back up you would see the detail.

This is why the Cut-scenes are close up- the detail is there, So why not play like this, well because at that high detail it would be too taxing on the system, games would run slow, or other things would have to be toned down heavy /like background. It's just how gaming works

I hope this explains it just a little but if you get a chance watch the conference they explain it all in that show. --> https://www.youtube.com/wat...

It's pretty long so I just gave you the IGN summary of it instead.

@SCW1982 and @LightofDarkness

Really? If you've been gaming more than 30 seconds then you know that those graphics are exactly the same. If they were to show Drake under those same conditions during gameplay there would have been no difference.

We'll let 2015 talk for itself.

ABizzel13421d ago

Like I said the reason people were even remotely modest about the graphics is because the camera is so far back compared to most 3rd person games.

http://www.paradiger.com/wp...

The game looks great, but you can't see all the full details especially Drake's character model, well here you go.

http://www.paradiger.com/wp...

All those renders they've shown of his facial features in comparison are 100% real, his face looks amazing. There work left to be done, but a game looking this good a year off is amazing.

The infamous in-engine cutscene image.

http://www.paradiger.com/wp...

Has been proven as well with in-engine cutscenes already matching that quality here.

http://www.paradiger.com/wp...

Fans were hyping it up to be the same character model, but with 11 months to go this game is could be a monster graphically and still aiming for 60fps.

@scw1982 and @lightofdarkness
I don't think anybody's saying it looks better than the E3 trailer, just different. Anyone who's played Watch_Dogs or GTAV on current gen can tell you it looks better/different at dusk/night. I don't think that's unreasonable to say, or to look at the images and realize there is alot of detail there and it looks plenty good for a pre-alpha.

600x330 resolution? off-screen shots? really? If you're going to showcase the awesome visuals at least use the 1080p video to make the screen grabs

waltyftm3421d ago

Well said, was expecting decent pics.

tekksin3421d ago

thank you. this is ridiculous sometimes.

Bathyj3421d ago

What Crappy low rez screens. I just watched the video again and it looks a million times better than that.

pyroxxx3421d ago (Edited 3421d ago )

Lool what a crappy screen shots ,.. I have 3.8gig uncompressed video of presentation,.. I could take screenshots that look 200.000 times better images in minutes,.. (and these people make an article of it,..(and get money for clicks ,.. insanity)

The best games of their generation too. Its incredible how great most if not all of playstations games are. Whether you like the stories or not you cant deny the quality of each title.

Hated tlou part 2. But im going to buy it when it is cheap enough because i want to play the remastered content for $10 extra dollars. Theyre adding a roguelike mode...thats going to be fun!
