Limbo Xbox One Coming To Early Adopters For Free

Limbo is coming to Xbox One, and it will be free for Xbox One early adopters.

Rumors appeared recently that PlayDead's puzzle platformer would be heading to Xbox One earlier this month. Now a message is being sent those who jumped on the Xbox One boat early that a download code will be delivered to them soon allowing them to download the game for free.

Loved this game, I can't wait to play these guys next game Inside. Looks every bit as creepy and moody as Limbo.

Limbo isn't a remaster, it's a straight port. And games like that are cross-gen on the PS4 from the PS3 such as Journey, Unfinished Swan, Soundshapes, Hohokum.

2) Yes, PS3 games you own will be free on PS Now for PS4 and Vita. Or did you not know that? They're already free on the PS3's PS Now beta. Sony is adding support for that on PS4/Vita soon.

FFS both of these companies only do what they need to do at a given time. They do nothing because they are nice or whatever. They do everything because it is competitive for them to do so. Whilst it's great to get something for free, I kind of feel that Microsoft should've offered something more substantial.

The Xbox One has dropped a lot in price since release so there's early adopters should be compensated with something that bridges that gap. Even if it's something like exclusive beta keys (VIP) or the opportunity to choose from a selection of titles.

As Xbox users, we decide what constitutes value. Of course some people will be happy with what Microsoft has provided, others won't. Those things you listed don't say "value" to me, especially because I finished Limbo on the X360 and the PS3.

For me, it's all about choice. Don't dictate to people what they can play, give me them a code for a free game up to £x.

Shifting the focus onto the opposition is irrelevant. I own all the "next gen" consoles and I cancelled PS+ because it no longer provided me with value for money. It's not about what Sony doesn't/does provide. It's about Microsoft providing content and calling it "rewarding" when in my opinion, I think they're lazy with rewards.

Sunset Overdrive being free today was great. But it wasn't a gift. A great way for Microsoft to let people play the game to drive sales. I suppose I'm just cynical.

Not true. When Limbo premiered exclusively on Xbox Live I was very excited. Not so much now. I've beaten the game and it's not like this is some remaster or definitive version. It makes complete sense that the game is now free and I don't see how it's a big deal.

theres a difference between showing appreciation for a free game and acting like indies are a major reason to purchase a console (which is what a lot of ps fanboys do). i personally couldn't care less about most indies but i still think its nice seeing MS go out of their way to give something for free. I'm not gonna sit here and say "omg more indies, xbox is the best!!" which is what we'd be hearing if it was a ps article.
