Xbox One console bundle has five AAA games for £399.85

Dealspwn writes: We've been saying the Black Friday Xbox One console deals have started early, but this leads the way for console bundle deals. A 500GB Xbox One, Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Forza 5 GOTY Edition, Titanfall and Wolfenstein: The New Order. All fantastic games if we're honest and titles that would be near the top of most people's most wanted lists if they were looking at buying an Xbox One for Christmas. As far as cheap console bundles go, that's the best I've seen.

damn, they're getting desperate to try and sell their console.

miyamoto3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

This is really getting from sad to disturbing... I know M$ has billions of money to throw away, but this is ridiculous.
They are literally giving the Xbox One for free.
This is not competition, I tell you! This is not competition anymore by the true essence of the word.
This has been the most desperate act I have ever seen in my whole life as a video gamer.

bouzebbal3444d ago

definitely an amazing deal for consumers but reflects the desperation at MS offices atm..

NukaCola3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

Jeez, That is almost $800 bucks in USD equivalant...Not a deal for any one importing.

Illusive_Man3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

It's distrubing that they want to offer a great console at an amazing deal? Microsoft knows exactly what they are doing. Sell the box...you'll make the money back. This is why Microsoft is a successful business across the board contrary to their financially strapped competitor.

Edit: actually this is a retailer deal and they have a similar deal for PS4. probably clearing stock or trying to attract more business in general.

No_Limit3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

Hmmm, the same site also have a PS4 bundle with
PS4 Console + FIFA 15 + Minecraft + Infamous First Light + Wolfenstein PS4 for £379.85
http://www.shopto.net/video...

Were Sony desperate too or maybe it is just a single shop offering a nice deal for both consoles?
smh

dillhole3444d ago

@NukaCola

£399 = $625.21

I wouldn't call that nearly $800

xtremexx3444d ago

@dillhole importing and delivery will be ridiculous.

Pogmathoin3444d ago

Oooh M$ are desperate..... Ohhh Sony have similar deal, ahhh they really love us gamers..... They are angels.... If your comment slams MS, its well said and bubbles up.... Or if your comment is the truth, its tagged trolling and lost bubbles....

user55757083444d ago

desperate move is desperate. hopefully they still fail so valve can officially enter the console market with steambox

ZeroX98763444d ago

5 high budget titles (2 title just released) for the X1 bundle VS 4 games which 2 were digital releases.

I think one of them is putting extra efforts to make better sales.

jspsc1233444d ago

whats disturbing about getting free games?

WombBat3444d ago

All those games, and I am not interested in even one.

Give me halo:MCC, Sunset Overdrive in one bundle for 300 bones and im sold

yellowgerbil3443d ago

I'm a sony fanboy, but this actually is a pretty smart move. the initial loss will be made back through the peoples future purchases, and getting xbox live. Then all the games are big franchises, so by getting people hooked it will help gain purchases on all their eventual sequels

beerzombie3443d ago (Edited 3443d ago )

They (MS) have billions (93) in cash over seas, they have the will to win, they are a giant. This was never in doubt but the gamming media just lies and Sony fan boys sometimes just do not understand how much money Ms makes every year and every quarter.
If Ms wants something bad enough they will do what ever it takes including being sued by government's for creating monopolies.
This is a war for the living room something they have been after for years. That's why they incorporate all the media in the Xbox its really a Trojan horse. This is why when they speak about the "cloud" and "Connectivity" and people say they are lying you should know they absolutely believe in it. when windows ten hits along with directx 12 making cross platform games will start or should start to happen.

@lonnytonny

There has to be some merit to this from the business side.

No matter what "desperation" it's coming from, MS is in it to make money. They wouldn't be just purposely losing money across the board. I'm sure someone has crunched numbers and in the long run money is believed to be made.

Either way this is great for gamers wanting an Xbox one. Can't really disagree on that if you are a gamer.

beerzombie3443d ago

They play the long game not short term goals even though that is important too. They have the money to lower the price and put in games to do this. It was always and will always be about their will to win. If the believe in the future for the living room, they will do what ever it takes and have the money to back it up.

spicelicka3444d ago

Loll when dumbasses complain for getting free games. This is a win for gamers, its cheap and its offering the best value for games this year.

If anything most of you commentators seem desperate...to play games on your ps4s or why else would you troll.

dantesparda3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

Nice spin there buddy. No one, and I repeat no one, "complained" about getting "free" games as you put it. People are just pointing out how desperate it looks. And it does, and you know it, but thanks for showing us your level of denial. And if X1 was offering the best value for games this year then people would be buying it, yet its consistently been outsold by 2 to 1 by the PS4 all year long. Funny how all MS fanboys cant understand that.

Oh and to all the PS+ games aint free guys, according to that logic, spicezilla is wrong and these games aint "free" either. That's all, now delusion on fanboys.

Oh look, another denialist/spiner (Bigpappy) and known MS fanboy, funny how this works, eh?

BillytheBarbarian3444d ago

@dantesparda my Xbox live sub ran out...I'm still playing my free games.

Necr0philiac3443d ago

@dantesparda

I agree with you that At launch PS4 price point hype and slight power advantage, made it the more popular console. At present time Microsoft exclusives trump the PS4's superior 3rd party graphics and is offering the best value right now. If it wasn't for Europe loving Sony and wanting the better version of FIFA and COD, console sales would be a lot closer.

@BillytheBarbarian

I remember you from Gamepro.com. Nice to see another real gamer on this site.

TheTwelve3444d ago

Yup.

Complain all we want but this is why system wars and console wars are great in the end.

solar3444d ago

Wow. It's a great deal and WOW at people saying MS is desperate to get their product into consumers hands. That is what ALL companies want. How oblivious can you people be?

aLucidMind3443d ago

The thing is that they're giving away two games that just now released and two others. This sort of bundle doesn't happen ever in any industry unless, in the case of the gaming industry, the games are fairly cheap in retail and that's in the last couple years or last third of the generation.

It is incredible for consumers right now. But what is bad is that, if this is the length that Microsoft feels is required to entice customers, then that actually is being desperate. Even if this doesn't fail, this may hurt the XBox One and Microsoft in the long run. Stating this is an act of desperation is not being oblivious, it is knowing that it is a very bad sign of things to come for MS given that this is the 1-year mark for the both consoles and Sony isn't even offering a deal close to this level and still selling more.

Hopefully MS pulls out of this rut, Sony having a monopoly for a generation will suck.

ainTgoTTime2bleed3444d ago

Microsoft's next bundle will include $350.00 cash so you can buy another one for your friend/family, that way you'll be helping with sales....lol

DLConspiracy3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

It seems there is more concern than desperation in the air when I see that comment.

There is a bundle for PS4 that's almost identical. From the same company. Clearly PS4 is now desperate as well too right?

aLucidMind3443d ago

They're only offering two games, if I remember right. One being a game they've already made a hefty profit on and the other being GTA5. So kind of like a Destiny bundle with an extra game. It is a similar but reasonable bundle. Two brand new games plus two games that are months old and the console for only $50 more is potentially a bad sign. Especially if this tactic fails for Microsoft.

3444d ago
Manic20143444d ago

This package is affordable for the retailer, the trade price for Xbox One and PS4 as of now is £230 + VAT. The games in this deal apart from GTA V are very cheap nowadays in trade hence why they could create this package and make a good profit. As the PS4 is in more demand they don't really need as good as package for PS4.

lelo2play3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

@LonnYTonnY

Do you realize that Sony also have bundles with consoles and 3-4 games? Is Sony desperate ?

You are a perfect example of typical fanboy logic. If your company of choice has a bundle, then it's smart business that will increase the consoles sales. When it's the other company, then they are desperate.

Oh the stupidity!... * shakes head *

Gamer7773444d ago

This isn't an official MS bundle its store created.

DoctorJones3444d ago

The only people that are desperate here are the Sony fanbois, lol. Some of you people are bat-s*** crazy, I swear.

The company doing this has a similar deal for ps4, they are in the business of making money, by offering deals such as this.

But you have to turn it into something else entirely, based on fear or insanity, I'm not sure really.

It's funny to watch, I know that. Carry on though, it's kinda pathetic, but highly amusing.

tgunzz3444d ago

Clearly some of us don't get the big picture (terrible), and that's the mass consumer can stabilize prices... Lower than expected support equates to much better prices. If the majority did this to most companies (from television to smart phones), it will yield the same results... I will say that it is unique to see more than favorable price points for the consumer being embraced as desperation instead of awesome deal for some....

Dark-Funeral3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

if they offer great deals they are desperate !!

if they did not, they are ignorant and sh$t !!!!!!

from your point of view, sony should (not) bring good deals cuz they are selling very well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ceromaster3444d ago

The funny thing is that some people on here didn't actually bother to read beyond the title.

ramiuk13444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

its embarrassing that there doing this, its beyond desperate imo.
there are bundles in uk for £359 with about 5 games, its silly.
even this one
Xbox One + Assassin's Creed Unity, Assassin's Creed black Flag and Far Cry 4 £329.99 @ simplygames

headblackman3443d ago

a playstaion fan with hatred for anything good from microsoft and the xbox camp would call it desperation and a person with at least half a brain would see it as pure business. no one gets into business to not do well or prosper. microsoft is simply trying to move units and by the looks of things, that's exactly what they are doing. but you can't move units without games and games is what they have in an abundance. so let's get back to gaming and let the gaming companies do whatever it takes to earn our dollars.

aLucidMind3443d ago

And anyone with a full brain would see it is a bit of both. XBox is selling poorly, this can easily be seen as a move of desperation considering what games are being bundled and how many bundles there are. Sony only has a couple bundles available and those, considering how well Sony is doing, are only available to attempt diminish Microsoft's chances at improving their own odds.

Sony is countering, while MS is desperate. Both companies are making good and solid business moves here as well. But do you really think MS would offer these bundles if they were beating out Sony? And do you think Sony would do it if MS hadn't already announced these bundles? People view it as desperate not because they like the idea of MS failing. They see it that way due to a concern of MS failing, as that would result in a monopoly in the gaming industry.

zero_gamer3443d ago (Edited 3443d ago )

^

For what it is worth, this is a good deal, and this isn't likely to be an official MS bundle. But please, keep pouring that salt. The sooner you run out the better.

aLucidMind3443d ago

@Zero_Gamer.
Right, because stating a fact is being salty. All you just did was make yourself look stupid by saying so, kid.

zero_gamer3443d ago

This probably isn't an official bundle, and this is a really good deal, desperate or not.

Azzanation3443d ago (Edited 3443d ago )

A company that earns billions every year is desperate? Lol ok so they do holiday specials and there classed as that. Learn how business works. XB1 makes its money back on subs and software, MS isn't one of the most successful companies in the world because there not competitive. They know exactly what to do to sell there products.

Us gamers win because this is a bargain for those who cant afford next gen systems and games.

+ Show (17) more repliesLast reply 3443d ago
Bigpappy3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

LOL. No this is a great deal for anyone remotely interested in getting a console this holiday season, and having many of the hottest games this year in the box, ready to go. You get this bundle, and you don't need to spend another dime until well into next year.

Having COD and GTA, along with Forza 5 is more than enough. Those games could have their own separate bundles.

ger23963444d ago

You're right, this is a great deal. So if this doesn't make a dent in Sony's lead, then what?

Vegamyster3444d ago

His comment didn't mention sales, i bought a Vita & Wii-U because i saw games i was interested in. Honestly i'm sick of hearing about sales when it doesn't need to be talked about, it's not like a system selling better makes you enjoy your games better does it?

nix3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

Ok.. I think ppl by now are quite educated about which console will have what exclusives. If one is ok playing only 3rd party games then it's a great offer to pick one up. Plus it's like they're giving the consoles free.

EDIT: never mind it's the shopto offer. Not official.

Azzanation3443d ago

Why does it have to make a dent in Sonys lead?

Kratos_19863444d ago

Microsoft next deal :

buy 1 game and get Xbox one for free :D

seriously they are so desperate to catch up with sony

NatureOfLogic_3444d ago

I can only imagine how much money the Xbox division is losing right now. With these extremely desperate deals to get people to buy Xbox One, MS is probably hoping that the software sales increase from more consoles sold will make up the difference in the huge loss they're taking on hardware.

Immorals3444d ago

The Xbox one is gaining momentum in sales, deals like this just build more.

Spotie3444d ago

Deals like this are the only reason it has ANY momentum to speak of.

gamertk4213444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

And the fantastic games that have been coming out. Try trolling harder next time, Spotie.

Lon3wolf3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

This is a shopto offer not an Msoft one, they also sell PS4 and 4 games for £379.

http://www.shopto.net/video...

No_Limit3444d ago

No, the PS4 bundle is a shop thing and the XB1 one is an official bundle created by MS. /S

That is the popular consent here. LOL

mcstorm3444d ago

Well this just shows how desperate Sony are too going off comments made above.

Haha love comments on this site some times I remember getting my psx with 5 games for £200 I love offers like this great time for people to get an Xbox one and a ps4 looking at the deals.

NeoGamer2323444d ago

Your Kratos site tag and your Kratos avatar speaks about the appropriateness of your comment.

You must just be jealous that Sony isn't offering as good a deal.

Ask yourself... Why did you need to make the comment? It's probably because you are not playing any games right now. Like you, my PS4 is filling with dust on its perch with a bunch of 4 hour games by indies. But, unlike you, I have hundreds of hours of quality AAA retail games to play on my X1 this holiday.

horndog3444d ago

Sony is got no money and are in the red, they just posted more losses last quarter. They are and have been in the red for a while. Slowly but surely she's going down they are the definition of desperate, laying off thousands, selling off properties, and such just to stay afloat. MS is the opposite and can afford to compete in this industry by being aggressive and going after the competition. Thank you MS for great deals as such that many consumers will appreciate and enjoy. Unfortunately sony has a wide enough lead and no money to counter such great deals and will sit back and feed their fan base more indies and shovelware.

Kiwi663444d ago

Then sony are desperate also because of a similar deal for the ps4

I don't see any faults of this move from microsoft as long as the gamers will be happy about getting free games with the consoles :)

yeah it sound desperate but we the gamers deserves this, I hope there will be deal like this in middle east we don't have black
fridays but at least they should give us some good promotion

Simmo3D3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

What an awesome deal!! People might think Microsoft is desperate to catch PlayStation sales, and maybe they are... But Microsoft has the money to do these crazy deals and put them ahead. If you walked into a shop to buy a console, you would be mad not to buy this bundle unless your a dedicated pony. Poor Sony can't afford the luxury... Boohoo ya sooks. I bet if Sony made these bundles it would be the best thing ever. LOL down vote away. Microsoft will win this generation even if they literally pay for it. Why not? They have the billions in cash to do so

Omran3444d ago (Edited 3444d ago )

so you are saying anyone who didn't buy the console is a pony, grew up dude and stop trolling with these silly comments !

everyone has their own taste, it doesn't matter the price if anyone don't want to buy specific console they had the right to do so even if it's cost 5 dollar !

Simmo3D3444d ago

What I am saying is.. Most people are cost conscious. Parents walking in to buy their children a console for christmas would firstly consider price. If you already knew you wanted a PS4 then you wouldn't care for price. If u walked in and looked at a console with a cheaper price and 5 amazing games included for free, you would more than likely buy it.

LoveSpuds3444d ago

Like many other, you are sorely misinformed if you think MS have the cash to keep taking a loss on their console.

They are a single division of a huge corporation and as a division they have to justify their spending and losses to a board of directors who are concerned with profitability of the corporation as a whole.

These directors consist, for the most part, of business people who see the xb division as a side line compared to the vast profits made in their core markets.

If XB cannot make the profits that the board are happy with then they will pull the plug, its a business, plain and simple. There have already been stories suggesting that the board want to get shot of xbox and refocus on their core markets.

IrishSt0ner3443d ago

You're reading stories from places that have no credibility, nor accurate information. First off, the Division has posted profits for the past 5 years. There's a lot of money in subscriptions and digital content.

The new MS CEO has backed Xbox publicly and stated Xbox is a 'core' part of their business, he even had Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox) do the Mahjong acquisition (Minecraft $2billion deal).

There has been no move from investors to sell off the brand.

So at all levels the brand is solid and here to stay, the company has made all attempts to make this absolutely clear to everyone.... yet there's stories still swirl.

It's all publicly available information, but some chose to ignore it and run with their own biased agenda.

LoveSpuds3443d ago

I never said that "moves had been made", I indicated that there were stories, and these stories have been carried in media outside of games media such as Forbes etc.

I also never stated they weren't making money, of course they were profitable over 360s lifetime. For your info buddy, I dont have an agenda, but I am not blind to facts either.

MS gambled countless millions on R&D for xb1 and need to recoup that outlay, having dropped the kinect they also now seem to be selling consoles at a loss, I just think its going to be a tough generation for MS.

On the plus side, if they do release another console in future they will learn from this and I bet it will be an utter beast of a machine.

IrishSt0ner3443d ago

Just stating the actual reality of the matter. Those articles you're referring to are part of the reason the new MS CEO specifically talked about the future of the Xbox brand, the dates can be checked because after that statement not a single reputable source runs with this story.

You did say 'justify their spending and losses', when the R&D and marketing costs are included in previous years reports, overall still profitable. The cost was already absorbed, although obviously they'll want to recoup that spend.

I wasn't referring to you with 'biased agenda', it was gaming media. Thing is, I spent a few hours one day researching it (due to statements that the XBOX loses billions and it'll be sold off). As you could imagine I was very surprised to learn of the vast profits made in the past 5 years, and they were still in profit at X1 release.

Even more surprising to me was that the PS3 lost $5billion in it's first 4 years, both last gen consoles lost A LOT on hardware, made back on software/subscriptions later on.

Yea it's going to be a tough generation for MS/Xbox due to the poor decisions and leadership early on, they spent a fortune on the all-in-one TV box idea (estimated at 3 billion). This generation is already lost IMO.

And yea I agree if there's another hardware generation they'll go all out, although I expect by that time a full on console won't be required due to the unification of Windows devices and better network infrastructure.

LoveSpuds3442d ago (Edited 3442d ago )

Fair comment dude, you seem to know a little more than I about their figures regarding last gen. I still feel that this gen will be tough for them, they must be taking a loss on each console at the moment.

I hope you are wrong about next generation, I love my own piece of hardware and physical copies of games.....a future where we play only digital content through a one size fits all device doesnt appeal to me. Old guy stuck in his ways I guess :)
