Please, Let Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Be The Last One

I like uncharted but.. I'd LOVE Naughty dog to do other things. I liked their plan of sticking to 1 or 2 games during a generation and then starting new the next generation.

Uncharted is good, and i wont complain about them doing uncharted 4, but just think about the potential for the level of incredible stuff with new IPs.

As a side project id love them to create an new take on crash bandicoot.. without it being crash bandicoot obviously (because they dont own that IP) but if they could create a new franchise of that magnitude.

Have you seen the concept art for the new ip? The scifi setting looks awesome. I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog is going to do with a scifi game.

Sure I'd love to see what other things Naughty Dog can do. The Last of Us was something different that was an amazing success for them and I suspect their rumoured sci-if game will be phenomenal.

But if you don't want to play a specific game then you don't need to cry and write a whole blog post about it - there is an easy solution, don't play it! Millions would like to see an Uncharted 5.

I mean.. everybody wanted a new Jak & Daxter back then, they decided to work on a new ip instead, & everybody knows how much of a masterpiece The Last of Us turned out to be.

I feel exactly the same way. The Last of Us was pure amazing gaming bliss. I'd love to see what they will do with the series, as well as what else they can make.

Though I also love the Uncharted games, so I also wouldn't be upset if they continued to make them. Though I have no doubt they will eventually move on. Hell, the very name of the game basically says this is the last game.

I don't think it will end with 4, personally. Perhaps ND will stop making the Uncharted games with 4 but I doubt Sony are going to want to just sit on an IP that sells in excess of 6m units.

Readyatdawn could probably make a good Uncharted game, with solid direction and a little help.

This franchise has gotten better with each ND installment (just to exclude Golden Abyss) so hopefully 4 will be the best yet and it can go out with a bang! Oh hell with Playstation 4's extra creative potential power and Naughty Dog only getting better over the years a man already is almost certain this will be the case!

Golden Abyss may of not been perfect, but it was a great handheld game and the story was solid. It was not a step back in any way, just a new standard for how an Uncharted game on a handheld should be.

yes but overall a man didn't enjoy it as much. It was great for a handheld but a man has to mark it as a step back because the experience was just too small for an Uncharted game. Not its fault since it was on a small system but still a man just can't put it anywhere near the trilogy because it just didn't have that same epic feel. For people who like handheld experiences it was great but a man just can't get into those games let alone a grandiose adventure being boiled down to a small screen.

I think a lot of people prefer Uncharted 2 over 3 to be honest. Although they are both great games.

I prefer the singleplayer in 2, but the multiplayer in 3. Although I did like the multiplayer in 2 until they patched it with some major changes.

I agree completely. While UC3 has it's moments, UC2 is like playing Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom mixed with The Last Crusade. It's just so epic on every level. UC3 had amazing coop and some crazy set pieces but the pacing was terrible. Almost the entire first half of the game is comprised of puzzles and mundane fist fights sprinkled with the occasional gun battle that's no where near as good as the worst gun battle in UC2.

I love Uncharted 2. It's simply the best action/adventure game ever made. The graphics and gameplay are amazing still to this day. I really hope Uncharted 4 is more like Uncharted 2 and less like UC3, I hated the pacing of that game honestly.

Uncharted 3 was fantastic. It and 2 are obviously the best 2 and a man has to give it to 3 for the overall better set of set-pieces (despite the greatest single set-piece in the series still being the train in 2), better paced out story in a man's opinion, better villain, better finale to be sure, and just plain more varied gameplay that keeps things moving better. A man loves 2 but it was SLIGHTLY outdone by 3 and a man thinks the final couple chapters are the tie-breaker as the final fight in 2 was lame and Lazaravich was just a bland villain compared to Marlow.

I completely respectfully disagree, UC2 had a much better pacing from beginning to the end. UC3 got boring due to the terrible pacing. The second half of the game is definitely good with some amazing set pieces, however, getting there felt like a complete chore for me personally and I never had that feeling while playing UC2.

How come no one have asked Halo, gears of war, god of war, super mario bros, etc... to stop? Developers need to make money and the best way to make money is to release a sequel to a very popular franchise. This is what ND and other developers are doing. But at the same time they are also releasing new IP that may or may not do so well. Which is a very big expensive gamble. Therefore, they need games like uncharted, halo, etc to anchor them.
I say if the franchise is still popular and sells, why not.

But every franchise has to start somewhere. Look at ND's history. They have always taken risks by launching new IP. Then they normally do a couple of sequels and move on.

You argue that Uncharted is the ND cash-cow... But ND took the risk of launching Uncharted ion PS3 as a new IP. Why wouldn't they do the same on PS4.

For me, I'd have liked them to end Uncharted with #3 on the PS3. Fresh start on PS4 with something new. It would still sell.... It's Naughty Dog!

I some what agree with you, but when you try to launch an unknown, unproven IP on a new console. Its a very big gamble. You have to understand that ND is not only trying to sell their games, but they are also trying to sell consoles (Ps4). Its going to be hard to convince people to buy a new console just to play an unknown IP.
You will have a better chance of success if you release a sequel to a proven franchise with millions of fans on a new console. You have higher chance of success.
ND is a very well known developer and have garnered a huge fanbase, but they will also try to milk as much money as they can as long as they can. At the end of the day its business first and pleasing the fans second.

I actually hope it does end with A Thief's End. Naughty Dog is one of those studios that respect their franchises enough to let go and not stagnate. They didn't want to be the one-trick pony and be "the Crash Bandicoot guys" so they stopped that. They also haven't made a new Jak game in forever.

First of all, I dont know what Uncharted you are playing but it is far from being a shadow of it self. Secondly, you are not as big an Uncharted fan as you think, for me, as long as ND keeps pushing the boundaries of what games can do, I have no problem if they make ten more Uncharted's after this one, thirdly if it bothers you so much that they might make a few more after the last one, simply just dont buy the game.

But Naughty Dog can do whatever the hell they want. They have earned that, and frankly, anyone who thinks they know better than them is just wrong.

I really need UC4 to be as good or better than UC2. I became pretty depressed after UC3; the pacing, the aiming (yes, i know they "fixed" it via patch), the new melee system, and the frustrating enemies who would rush at you and force you into fisticuffs were all unwelcome changes.

I think the last of us proved that the UC2 team are THE best dev team (at least on consoles), so the fact that UC4 is the UC3 team has me concerned.

Thankfully, Neil and Bruce are overseeing UC4, and hopefully, NG realise that UC3 is not as good as 2, and have tried to emulate the latter accordingly.

I was gonna write something similar, but I also though it would be like kojima ending metal gear. I wouldn't be very happy. As long as it's not every single year a new uncharted comes out, then I don't see why they have to end it. Metal gear is every few years and it builds up excitement for many gamers and fans. UC4 is already gaining loads of excitement too.

But it's down to the developers. They already know the fans want more.

As long as ND can make a creative idea to both story and gameplay in uncharted universe, spin off or not, I will gladly play a new uncharted. Even if Drake's story ends, there is still Sully or Elena or Chloe or maybe his son? who knows..

But I'm betting that uncharted 4 is ND's last game on the series. When they finally do that, Sony will just tell another developer team to make a spin off. If the thing sells, why not keep making it right?

Wonder if what a Naughtydog open world or sci-fi game would be like. would love to see them do a Cowboy Bebob type of game. that would be cool but anything they do I will buy it, Naughtydog itself is a system seller, one of the big reasons why I've stayed on PS consoles.

A series with a new cast could be fascinating if set in the same world past Uncharted 4, Nathan Drake's story probably is or should be nearing its end but that doesn't mean there aren't other clever and agile treasure hunters out there in the same world.
