This makes the Wii U owner of the four highest rated next gen exclusives (not counting TLOU remastered). This, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, and SM3DW.

I must say nintendo is the only one consistently delivering to me this gen. Destiny, Titanfall, Ryse, Drive Club, BF4 are only a handful of next gen disappointments, whether because they came out buggy or just didnt work out. I mean everyone talks about the gaps in the nintendo release schedule, but when the games are THIS good and everything else is of fleeting enjoyment, im fine with it.

Maybe if i bought my wii u at launch my perception would be more universally critical of next gen. But i bought my wii u sept 2013 and have yet to be disappointed by any of the games that have come out.

If Bayonetta 2 is the first game non- Nintendo fans want to play on Wii U, I'd have to seriously question their judgement. Cause Im counting well over a dozen games, all exclusive, that rival anything I own on PS4 or Xbox One.

But I forget how narrow minded gamers can be...

It's a tough sell when you're trying to convince someone who only wants that game to buy a console for just one game.
I hope it does sell well.
Nintendo needs to bring out more of these games over here. Fatal Frame is another who has great potential.
It doesn't hurt to diversify your gaming portfolio Nintendo.

I really hope this game sells well. But it also depends on what they think it can sell too. I hope it hits the 1 million mark but not too many 3rd party games do this on a Nintendo console.

To be fair, Bayonetta barely made 1 million copies sold when it was available on both PS3 AND 360. You want me to list the wonderful but niche games which severely came up short in sales...I'll just say Okami.

You seem to forget Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, which is a master class in 2D platforming.

Also, there's still Smash coming out, as well as Captain Toad (although that one won't come out in time for most sites' GOTY lists).

Have many other games hit 90% within the last year? It's practically the only major nonremade title to hit the 90% mark, most of the contenders will be smaller titles like Shovel Knight and other indies and smaller developers.

An easy GOTY contender right her - if not a shoe in. Funny how a game or two changes peoples perceptions of a console entirely... not that (in my opinion) the Wii U hasn't been a breath of fresh air and a delight since I purchased it at launch. PS4 owner here - also launch.

Kinda random but OMG polygon review is in and they would give the game a 7.5 because the sexualization of Bayonetta hurt their feelings!! Can we just erase polygon from gaming existence?

To be fair, the 'hyper sexualization' is actually the least 'adult' part of the game. I sort of agree to a point - with Polygon, but then this is what the Japanese do.

I don't think Bayonetta is trying to be "adult", I don't think it cares. Bayonetta is about mayhem, chaos, and awesome combat. And its funny that Bayonetta receives criticism when she is one of the strongest female characters in gaming. Where are the articles lamenting the fact that Dante was sexualized in all the DMC games? How dare they show him without his shirt on in the opening of DMC 3, for what purpose other than fan service? People tend to forget just how sexualized male characters are in video games, but that never matters to them because they only want to talk about what suits their SJW agenda.

I love the art style and the tounge in cheek fun, but to call her a strong female character is either terrible or a bad reflection on videogames using women as 'character's'.

The thing is, even though the game is overtly sexual in places, Bayonetta "owns" it. She's not a busty bubble-head like you get in most games, she's intelligent, feisty and sexually quite intimidating. No doubt SJW's will pretend to be up-in-arms but the character was designed by a woman and IMHO she projects quite a positive image. Heck, my 17 year old niece thinks Bayonetta is GREAT (and she's your typical floor-staring "teen" who's supposed to hate everything :) )

Fun Fact:
During development, Platinum's staff initially wanted to put an undershirt into Bayonetta's Link cosplay, to cover her skin up a bit more, but some guys from Nintendo's end said that it would be better not to do so.
The guys at Platinum were actually shocked and asked if it was okay to do that. They didn't expect it from Nintendo anymore than most gamers would have.XD
So we have Nintendo to thank for giving Platinum the go-ahead for letting Bayonetta stay true to herself, there.

Its strange, the original didn't hook me, but having recently played the demo for Bayonetta 2 I was sold from the first 2 minutes. Maybe the game has changed (slightly), maybe I have, it just seemed to click straight away - this time.

This game's western release is going to be a test.
Not just for whether or not more games like it can thrive on Wii U, through its fanbase, in the future, but also as a test for Bayonetta 1 fans.

I wonder which they will show more loyalty to...
The series itself?
Or the consoles lines that the series started out on?
I'm hoping they'll pick the former, because as an owner of Bay 1 on the PS3, it would be really nice to play the online co-op mode of Bay 2 with other, experienced, fans of the series.
We'll earn way more halos that way.XD

Your argument is a bit flawed. If we follow it through, then we come to the erroneous conclusion that people that don't buy a Wii U for Bayonetta 2 are being loyal to their other consoles.

That logic is, well, ilogical. People may be avid fans of the first Bayonetta, but if they don't like the games already present on the Wii U, then most of them won't want to spend their cash on a new console only for ONE game.

The second part, about people loyal to their consoles, was said specifically with the people who won't buy Bay 2 because of it being on a Nintendo console in mind.
You know, the ones that hate the game and/or Platinum specifically for it being on the Wii U instead of on a different system.
Not the ones that are waiting for more than just Bayonetta 2
