hahahaahahah thats the most ridiculous piece of sugarcoated bullshit ive ever heard

DanielGearSolid3486d ago

This is how the convo went:

MS: Dude, how dumb are you gonna look pushing your worst looking version of the game?

UBI: True, but as developers we strive to....

MS: Here's a check

UBI: Parity

Artista 3486d ago

If only it were really that simple.

Blame Microsoft for PS4's shortcomings. SMH.

fallacious3485d ago

How is any of this because of PS4's shortcomings? It's a fact that the Xbox one is weaker than the Ps4 which is why this parity crap by Ubisoft is ridiculous.

#parity-gate

MrSwankSinatra3486d ago (Edited 3486d ago )

It's really not fair because consumers chose the more capable machine for games that took advantage of that machines capabilities, why should they be penalized because others chose the less capable machine? This applies to PC as well because on the PC side Ubisoft has really been screwing up.

I'm a professional music teacher (classical piano) and to me this is like having 2 kids share an hour, where one is obviously more talented and works harder than the other.

Even though I'd like them to perform equally, I simply cannot decide to give the weaker pupil more time or attention, just so both can play the same pieces at the same level at the end of the year. The parents paid an equal amount for my teachings, so it's only right I give them the same care and split the hour in half. Just my two cents..

swishersweets200313486d ago

if people pay you money to teach their kid, and you know the one kid takes more time and patience, then you need to be more professional and give more time to your student instead of playing favorites. If i heard that from a instructor that i was paying, i'd find a different teacher that cared more.

lsujester3485d ago (Edited 3485d ago )

But in taking the extra time for your slow kid, then he just played favorites with yours instead being fair to other parents who payed just as much money as you did.

It really just comes down to what he's trying to accomplish. If it is merely having them both at a certain level in a specific time frame, then yes he gives more time to the child that needs more help. But if he wants them both to improve as much as they can within a certain time, then he has to split his time equally... or be willing to give up his own time and profit elsewhere (hiring more developers) to catch yours up.

What it comes down to in the end, though, is that the parents should have made a better child. (MS! not real actual parents!)

EDITED FOR SPELLING AND CLARITY

Thank you, Isujester, for your common sense. I cannot for the life of me see the logic in the reasoning of swishersweets20031. And he claims I'm unprofessional and don't care, lol.

Where would the world be if we would only care for the weaklings? I'm not claiming survival of the fittest here, no, I'm just stating that everyone deserves equal attention, certainly if they pay the same amount for the same 'product'.

Article:
Hopefully the "bottlenecking" will not become a trend for the PlayStation 4 from certain developers. Granted, Unity will offer cooperative play and more will certainly be required from the CPU, but the PS4 is certainly capable of achieving at least 1080p basing this on last year's title. "Avoiding debates"

Well were comparing this to Black Flag which is a cross-gen game to AC Unity which is a next gen game and taking into account the fact that even with 3 years development WatchDogs didn't get 1080p either... this game has been a year in development and has considerably more demanding graphics than BlackFlag, massive open world and co op to boot and on a technical front it has much better draw distance, lighting, AI, number of NPCs... so its safe to say that it is demanding much more than Blackflag which also shipped at 900p but managed to squeeze out 1080p with an Update. You can't deal with 900p with demanding games then I think you'd be better off getting a PC this generation...

It's so funny how the xbonefanboys are only focused on what Ubisoft is said about the CPU. But the xbonefanboys are totally ignoring . That ubisoft also went on record saying
“We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid the debates and stuff” . The xbonefanboys totally omit that part out of their conversation.

HaydenJameSmith3485d ago

Amazing how people can't tell clickbait from actual genuine gaming news... haven't you noticed that this has been on every major gaming site because it gets views. Its already been said that's been misinterpreted by Ubisoft themselves.

Magnes3485d ago

@HaydenJameSmith

"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff,"

How can that sentence be misinterpreted?

HaydenJameSmith3485d ago

@Magnes

http://www.gameinformer.com...

Speaking with Videogamer, Pontbriand revealed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will run at 900p and 30 frames per second. "We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff," he says. Ubisoft, however, has offered clarity, unequivocally stating that it did not handicap one of the console versions to achieve artificial parity.

"We understand how senior producer Vincent Pontbriand’s’s quotes have been misinterpreted," Ubisoft told us in an emailed statement. "To set the record straight, we did not lower the specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity to account for any one system over the other. Assassin’s Creed Unity has been engineered from the ground up for next-generation consoles. Over the past four years, we have created Assassin’s Creed Unity to attain the tremendous level of quality we have now achieved on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC."

The fact that you decide which is a valid statement when both statements came from Ubisoft just shows how hypocritical you are...

So when they say they locked it for parity that is regarded as a truthful statement from Ubi but when they respond by saying "We understand how senior producer Vincent Pontbriand’s’s quotes have been misinterpreted," thats just completely false ? Wow you really like double standards...

Anything can be taken out of context to make a Clickbait article and guess what its working...

Magnes3485d ago

@HaydenJameSmith nice try Calling me hypocrite I simply quoted them and added nothing I'm not sure you know the definition of a hypocrite is but I'll help you out. Hypocrite "A person who engages in the same behaviors he condemns others for". If you notice its what you did by telling everyone which statemen you thought was valid. Boooom!!

TFJWM3485d ago

@HaydenJameSmith I always take the first quote made by a developer just taking as more likely being true then a PR damage control statement but thats just me...

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis519d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde519d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils518d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia519d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack519d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain519d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall519d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast519d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
